Are they better now?
How would a light armor, destro,restro Mag DK hold up in PvE? or sometimes in PvP?

pve theyre fun, dueling theyre ok, in pvp a HA magdk with a few templars is a pain to deal with

All the new sets with jewellery have given all classes more options. The mDKs you see are probably trying to have fun with silks of the sun. They got no specific buffs afaik.

While magicka sets still trail behind what's available for stamina, IMO, magicka just got a whole Christmas morning of new things to try. (As did stam.) No doubt people are dusting off neglected toons to play with the new toys.

Plus with confirmation of mDK getting buffed "soon" that's going to stir up interest as well. Pretty much every mDK in Tamriel is farming Silks. And dueling will bring out more mDKs, too.

But no, mDKs got no direct buffs. Stonefist was changed but is still sad. Whip was moved into the first open skill for new DKs to give them an early spammable, but that doesn't affect most players.

Mag dks are really good now for duels... Rattlecage + sun set.. Its good dmg combination.. And dont forget - talons.. Soft cc AOE skill which block your movement and you cant even turn.. So he can go to your back and attack you from behind.. Together with some stun its really good

Tooltip lies alot in this game. So many things influencing it. I suspect it might be something like Velidreth for mag users, but less OP. I'll give it a goosy gander some time soon, but for now I'm having too much fun with Grothdarr.

The thing about Infernal Guardian, you can hold D (Strafe Right) with your weapon out and the mortars will completely miss you. The mortars are way too slow for anything competitive unless you're fighting snails or walls - and those have to be the only things in combat with you.

Was on my MagDk for the first time in over 2 months Monday night. Died on the first boss of vMol, rezzed a teammate and when I looked at my combat metrics for that fight it showed 37.7k....id say 50k is possible on that fight, provided you are running mixed staves ofc

Well it's not spinner and skoria I can tell you that. You are seriously smoking something if you think there is some new hidden set combo that magically made magicka competitive with stam in pvp. SSDD except now you can get a nb eternal hunt d roller with a selene proc to the face.

I dusted off my Dumer magDK the last few days and Ive had some fun. Running 5 elegent and 5 V Death and heavy attacking zergs with fire destro. Love watching the mayhem it causes.

How much damage does that type of heavy attack do? Are you empowering it with might of the guild too?

Yeah that thing hits really hard on the unwary. I just stood there to see what kind of damage it could do and 75% of my health was gone from a single proc

Well as per redit they are buffing magdks patch 13 as well.. at least they are addressing the mana issue with them so people could be trying to get the new sets prior to that.

ive been enjoying playing my magDK ... he does some pretty decent dps in PvE and does fairly well in PvP... def heavy armor in PvP though... I run 5L/1M/1H in PvE ( Skoria ( working on getting Grothdaar shoulders to test that set out ) TbS and SotS

New witch receipe.

No undaunted proc sure but ..

Perma 3200 spell dam (not counting weapon spell dam proc and heavy armor proc). So like 3700 ...

1800 mag regen.

Quite comfortable ...

Wyrd Tree is absolutely amazing the more I fool around with it, every 15 seconds just using abilities completely wipes up to 5 effects off of you.

Why are people messing around with rattle cage when structured entropy gives you the same buff? Skill bars arent that crowded to give up a 5pc bonus for an easily obtained buff.

Mag dk skill bars are very crowded. In my experience, outside of toggle sorcs, they are the worst when I comes to bar space.
