How do I complete dungeons without getting kicked from group?

Hazel_knox
I have a champion level 90 Sorc, with a seducer set, and ashen grip set as a secondary/extra. Since the update i've been in dungeons and not one has been completed. Every group disbands or I get kicked because there is not enough dps. What do I do? I beat a lot of people in duels, Soloing is just fine for me, and I feel like I hit hard. So what is going on? Do they kick me just because they see my number is smaller? 90 cp instead of 500+

Is there a way to dungeons, or am I stuck in the "You're not strong enough" loop, so I'll never be able to get better gear?

Joining a guild might help you. PUGs have gotten hostile lately towards low CPs.

Low CP always have a hard time getting groups :(

Its quite common for them to be kicked from harder dungeons and vets.

First thing you should do is get 70 CP, so you can gear properly. After that check guildmates or guides for a good gear combination, probably Willpower jewelry +5 julianos +4magnus or similar. 5 light, 1 heavy, 1 medium, all divine, all magicka enchants. You can use healthy jewelry if you are too low on hp (lack of undaunted passives and CP).

If you are on pc get combat metrics addon (ftc has dmg meter included if you prefer that) and a buff and dot tracker addon (i use srendar but you need to configure it).

Practice your weaving (animation canceling) and rotation in the biggest mob you can find like mamuths on craglorn.

Read updated guides for 1t. Check the forums in tamrielfoundry.com

Check videos on youtube, make sure are from the current patch or shadow of the hist.

Then its a matter of getting more CP, max undaunted passives (all passives in general), maybe get a monster set, refine your build and make everything golden. At 300 CP start doing veteran maelstrom arena. Will be very hard at the begining, but will make you a better player, learning to watch your surroundings and dps under pressure.

PUGS are not the best friendly enviroment out there especially if you are below gear cap.

Tho, if you are dpsing, people expect you to hit a good amount of damage at least, especially now that the bosses have been buffed. I would say that the minimum dps for a the group dungeons now is around 15k. If you can make 20k and have a solid party you'll run it smoothly.

People are farming dungeons for the new gear so want to do them as fast as possible. They probably assume you're going to slow them down.

Cp 90 is really not going to be considered. Find others at your level. Say in zone cp 90 LF wayrest or random etc. otherwise get in a guild.
Sorcerna, proud beta sorc. RIP April 2014 to May 31 2016 DArk Brotherhood. Out of retirement for negates and encases. Sorcerna will be going back into retirement to be my main crafter Fall 2018. Because an 8 k shield is f ing useless. Died because of baddies on the forum. Too much qq too little pew pew. 16 AD 2 DC. 0 EP cause they bad, CP 2300 plus 18 level 50 toons. NA, PC, Grey Host#SORCLIVESMATTER actually they don’t or they wouldn’t keep getting nerfed constantly.

What's bad is CP levels means very little so it seems you are playing and then getting kicked.

If so, then it's problably based on what you're doing and what you're not doing.

Dueling and solo is in no way a basis of how viable you are in group content.

I'd suggest watching a lot of videos to better understand what "good" behaviors are rather than focusing on your dps or CP level

Again....if you're not getting kicked immediately, the above applies.
If you are getting kicked immediately, and it's normal dungeons and not veteran, just keep doing quests until you get above cp300-400 and DO NOT GRIND CP

You need to actually do the quests for skill points as you'll need those

I hate to say it, but anyone below the gear cap (160 CP) is going to have a hard time finding a group. You just wont pull much DPS, no matter what you do. A good PVE guild would certainly be helpful. The other option is get yourself to 160. Grinding low level CP takes no time at all these days. Then you can get a proper sorc build going. The reality is that its hard to play endgame content without endgame gear.

For easy crafted gear, I would go with 5TBS, 3 Willpower, 3 Julianos and run Thief and Shadow. Eventually you can replace Willpower Jewelry with Infallible Aether or Moondancer, and the 3 Julianos pieces with VMA weapons and a monster set (Llambris appears to be the new sorc Meta). If you want specific help on a sorc, just ask.

Yeah it sucks but really with no way to tell what other peoples dps is, there is one option when deciding you need more dps. Kick the lowest player. It might not be right, but there is no real way to know unless you see someone acting silly.

Edits I would also add dont be afraid to do normal dungeons. They take less work and can be a good way to learn the dungeons. Im cp561 and i still run normal when switching characters to get back into the swing or just to practice something. If you are getting booted from normals then the whole group is failing not just you.

My guildies and I picked up a CP 91 player the other day. I think they had bow/resto and we were able to finish normal Volenfell with no issues. So maybe find a guild or try to get a group in zone?

That said, you mentioned Seducer/Ashen Grip. Are you a magicka sorc? Would you maybe be better off with Magnus' Gift? Or try farming that Mother's Sorrow set in Deshaan. It looks like a good magicka/crit set, and with crit surge healing you you would probably do really well. I'm looking at trying that for my sorc (but thinking of Julianos instead of Seducer).

    1. Are you entering Vet dungeons ?
    2. Your armor setup is not optimized for DPS
    3. You should get 160cp at least so you can upgrade your gear at least purple and get gold enchants on them
    4. Prolly you dont have good jewelry
    5. Dont enter Vet dungeons till get 160cp its just so easy nowadays just get to 160
    6. Get gold weapons
    7. Find and test optimized dps rotation
    8. Learn the boss tactics get 18k health at least(with food)

    Easy to craft gear suggestion:

    5x julianos
    3x torugs pact
3x willpower jewelry (very easy to find now nad cheap get arcane ones)

Get these 160 and upgrade to purple enchant them all with magicka make them all divines and use atronach or theif mundus.

The Elder Scrolls gameplay always tell their players to join the Fighters and Mages guild because they can get contacts, services, training and help there. The same is true for ESO. The way for a smooth and fun gameplay will always end up in groups of people, in this case player created guilds. Really, what is the point to play an online game if you won't interact with others, it will only make things harder for yourself.

From a business standpoint is simple. As a pug, you aren't worth an investment. Let me explain by using a personal example. I never pug, always I go do pledges is with friends or I don't even bother. Time is precious and I want to squeeze as much of it as possible. The only way I join pugs is when a friend ask my help and I'll tank for him and then he brings pugs or grope finder, I won't let my friend down in that case.

So pug is low level, if there is a vote to kick, I will, shamelessly. If a pug is doing something wrong I'm just rude and tell in group chat, do as I say or I'll leave. I will not spend 10 minutes of my time holding the hand of a pug who after the dungeon may or might not join my guild, may or might not add me as friend, may or might not ever grope with me again. I just gain nothing out of it and I waste precious time.

Concluding, I will spend as many hours as needed to train a guildie who have much better odds to grope with me in the future and be a solid member of my guild. It's a much better investment and even if said guildie let me down in the future I won't consider it wasted time as I was investing in my guild's future. Don't try to do everything by yourself when you have access to other players and guilds.

TL;DR: Join a guild, they will help you out.

Get these 160 and upgrade to purple enchant them all with magicka make them all divines and use atronach mundus.

Lots of people don't realize, but some armor pieces are bigger than others, and this affects the glyphs.

A c160 kuta magica glyph will give less if it is put on a hand slot than if it is put on a chest slot. Head, chest, legs are the 3 'full strength' glyph locations. Feet, hands, waist, and shoulders will chop that glyph in half.

So, while divines will give the same percent boon no matter if it is on a chest or a boot, if you take the glyphs into consideration you get more by making those 3 full strength pieces as Infused, so you get the full strength glyph *plus* the infused trait increase.

It's a balance across multiple categories, when you factor in undaunted passive. You'll hope for 5 of your main armor weight, then 1 of each of the other types.

    Mine, example

    Chest - infused - light
    Legs - infused - light
    Feet - divine - light
    Hands - divine - light
    Waist - divine - light
Head - monster - heavy (hidden)
    Shoulder - monster - medium

Undaunted passive gives a 3% increase to my pools, for the low low cost of taking advantage of gear mechanics. Most often, the random generator doesn't coordinate with you. If I was stuck with my monster set as both heavy or both medium, I would make the belt into whichever weight I needed, with minimal impact of the look of the character.

Atro mundus, if you run out of magica. Otherwise, run Mage for a bigger max pool or Apprentice for spell penetration.

id wait till you are 160 before worrying about getting better gear. because the good gear you get you will have to get again once you are 160 cp for end game activities anyways so I say grind up to at least 160 then start doing dungeons for gear.

Nope according to my math full divines is always better on every set. Also it gives you flexibility to change your stats and your mundus and if you need extra pool you can get mage or tower and get extra 700 magicka

    1. Choose whether you want to be Stamina or Magicka based. Seducer is a magicka set and ashen grip is more of a stamina set.

    2. Get a sets of gear that compliment your role. Seducer is not really a very good DPS set. Ashen Grip is better if your Stamina, but that health bonus is kind of a waste. Either get Julianos or Hundings as your base set, and something that gives you regen (since your CP is not at max yet) as a Jewelry + the rest of your pieces. If you are going with a Stamina build Hundings + Endurance + Night Mother's Gaze is actually a great "starter set" you can use. Julianos + Transmutation (4 piece) + Willpower would also be a good starter set on the magicka side of things.

    3. Learn your DPS rotations. There is a lot of material on how to do this and what classes use, but most skill rotations start with buffs (e.g. Critical Surge), then DoTs (Damage over Time), then some sort of low cost "spammable" until a buff or DoT needs to be reapplied. All weaved in with light or heavy attacks. Your skills all have a cool down of approximatly 1 second, so use that to queue up your weapon attack, then apply the next skill.

    4. Learn when to cancel skills with a block. Some skills you will find have long animations, but they can be cancelled with a block or weapon swap and still fire so you can go on to the next weapon attack. (Crystal Frags on a "proc" and Endless Hail are great examples).

    5. Once you have the basics down and can keep your rhythm going with your DPS rotation on some NPCs use FTC (or similar add-on) to see where you are at for fights longer than 30 seconds. You want to get it to where your skill rotations are second nature and you can do it without looking at your hand at the correct rhythm.

    6. Learn to watch for boss telegraphs and don't stand in red circles. Telegraphs usually start with the boss doing some sort of dance with his weapon in the air and sparks flying that signify you either need to move or block. The better you do at this the happier your teammates will be because a dead player does 0 DPS.

    7. Make friends and/or join a guild or both. There is strength in numbers and there are a lot of players willing to help.

    8. Pay it forward to the next guy that needs help. When your become a full fledged beyond-first-rank Shehai Shatterer remember where you started, and help the next guy get started. This game doesn't need any more elitist pricks.

If you have any other build related questions let me know. I'll be glad to point you the right direction.
