Magika DK is just confusing to me!!

So many things I find wrong with this class:

1- Very bad survivability compared to other magika classes
2- Very Magika hungry, by the time I apply my dots I'm already at like 10-20% magika
3- No Execute
4- Even with all the fire damage buffs in the game I still do as much damage as my magika templar maybe even less but I also have the issues mentioned above.

Can someone please explain to me how Magika Dks work? I can't get ulti fast enough for battle roar and just start heavy attacking most of the long fights

    Dots,it's all about connecting the dots.and then whip them with your noodle.

    They're pretty good in PvE. PvP they're a lot harder to work with unless you run the typical sword and board build, but if you do that don't expect to put out much damage. Magicka DKs are getting buffed in Update 13 (early next year) so that should be a big help.

    They don't have any sustain apart from ultimate.

    Hi, magica DK are great!

    I am never out of mana, I can do up to 36K DPS without sun set and without maelstrom inferno staff.
    (just with 2 valkyn+5 julianos+3willpower+ 1inferno staff)

    All you need is a decent healer, with worm stuff and spell power cure stuff.

    Even in long fight (more than 2 min) I am never under 50% of my magica.


    But I agree, with a bad healer, I have no sustain...

    Stop spamming whip.

    I use double vma lightening staff. Front one, woe, embers, deep breath, inner light and dampen.

    Back one. Eruption, engulfing flame, Talons, chains and molten armaments.

    Ulti, standard of might for boss fights, but don't open with it. Use it when you actually need to to go back to full stats.

    Meteor for everything else. If you don't have it go and get it. Shooting star does 10% that's an enormous bonus to any enemy hit with engulfing flames. Plus 12 ult for every add you've hit.

    Start on back bar with eruption, flames up, switch bars dots on and hold the trigger and cook them. My staff ticks for 10k a pop alone, you'll never run out of magika, deep breath gives a good heal, embers heals you to full if it's on for 2s. Hardened armor makes you tanky as. You're probably spamming your dots too quick. Get a set rotation and you'll be fine. Mine is all dots and 2 heavies and reapply. Never had any issues.

    overall helpful, but i dont spam whip what do i slam when all dots are up? also the required malestorm staffs which i don't think ill be getting anytime soon

    Damage increase with 15% and you cannot be interrupted while casting it.

    I like having it on my front bar, and Shooting Star on my back. Shooting Star is still my preferred Ulti but if I need resources quick, a low cost 100 Ulti is kinda nice to have

    3- No Execute

    Wrobel already said, that there will never ever be an execute for DKs. They want this class to put pressure on enemies with a lot of dots.

    the problem is i can do as much dot damage with my magika templar and still get an exectue, dont know about magika sorcs but i think they have a lot of dots too along with an execute

    Heavy attacks should be part of the rotation, because of molten armaments. That should also help with sustain.

    There has always been this biased nature towards stamina, I think because its easy to process and develop for then with magicka. Don't know if the next patch will even address it or just frack it up more.

    It would be nice to have faith in the combat development team, but they have screwed up time and again and have no real concrete plan on where they see the direction of Magicka DPS in the future.

    Well, then I got good news for ya:

    Wrobel stated that in Update 13, he plans to rework and improve the Magicka DK. And seeing as he did a good job with Stam Sorcs the last time, I'm pretty sure it'll work out. Hopefully... :p
