Suggestion: Undaunted Enclave in Cyrodiil

Considering that:
  1. The RNG on undaunted shoulders from chests is very very frustrating to players who don't want to PvE.
  2. Most PvP players who have reached max Undaunted level don't want to grind dungeons and spend an hour or two every day doing so in order to have a chance at the gear that they want to try or use in a PvP build.
  3. PvP players almost all want Impenetrable on thier gear.
  4. Those players who don't want Impenetrable on all their gear probably don't understand how it works.
  5. 7/7 Gold Impenetrable gear gives you 1750 Critical Resist.
  6. 1750 Critical Resist is (1750/3300 * 100) = 53% reduction in critical damage.
  7. Other than some niche gank or burst builds, there is no reason to run another trait on PvP gear (except perhaps the shield in some scenarios).
  8. The calculations here http://goo.gl/84hnar support my statements above.

I suggest that an Undaunted Enclave be created in Cyrodiil, where players can turn in their Undaunted keys.

The difference between these chests and the ones outside Cyrodiil is that these would give only Impenetrable gear.

PvP players, please discuss.

It seems rather arrogant to assume anyone who chooses other traits over impenetrable doesn't know the mechanics behind it. That is a level of cherry picking the arguments that support your theory at which there really is no hope in a discussion anymore and so I won't discuss that any further - take that for what you will. So from that perspective your suggestion is completely ludicrous, why should anyone be freed from RNG and only get drops in perfect traits while others still have to deal with random garbage?
If however, you were indeed right and anyone in their right mind used impenetrable as much as possible on pvp armor - why on earth would a reasonable developer *support* that imbalance and remove all the other traits from the loot tables? It would seem much more reasonable to actually balance the traits then, don't you think?

They could rebalance the traits. But if you consider all sides of games, having just impen/divines drop all the time promotes weak build diversity.

But they did shift some traits to cover block cost, add ultimate regen, increased potency of enchants, etc.
So they did balance there traits somewhat. Not everyone wants to run stam with velidreth or a destro sorc running divines and you cannot create an economy for this game without some items people consider "low" on the totempole.

Either way, I don't think PvP should get a PvE style loot system. I think they need to make AP more attractive, give more reasons to earn AP instead of d ticks or tower farms, and overall make both pve/pvp embrace some aspects of each other's playstyle so the populations can support each other.

Infused and sturdy are good traits in pvp in my opinion. Well-fitted is decent as well. Reinforced isn't bad either.

Yes, it would be more reasonable to balance traits, and while they could, 3+ years later they still haven't (even with recent changes and their attempt to do so). There are "decent" other traits for some builds, but again - run in a group, fight another group, and if everyone is running impen gear then your group can have th same success and performance with one less healer - as you have *that* much less incoming damage.

People seem to forget that there are three distinct groups of players:
    1. Those who play for the PvE
    2. Those who play everything
    3. Those who play for the PvP and don't want to PvE if they can help it

Group #3, which if I recall correctly from about a year ago's statistics makes up about 10% of the population of players. Those are the players who come out of Cyrodiil to run dungeons for an hour a day so that they can get that one (or two) shoulders in impen and get back to PvP. As soon as they get that shoulder, they won't be in PvE land again until the next patch. Those are the players who would be a LOT happier with an Undaunted Enclave in Cyrodiil.

Pvp wouldn't be as fun if 100% of players had impen. No more 20k dawnbreakers. :(

Plus I've already farmed 7 impen on my new undaunted set and gear from this update. I should be rewarded for my luck with the RNG and time spent. Looking forward to killing those who spent 50 keys on prosperous and training pieces to further add to their misery.

You have to farm PvE zones in order to acquire gear that will do your damage for you.

Agreed. My favorite times in this game were when there was valuable things I could buy with AP and sell (back when Cyrodiil's Light jewelry was best-in-slot for PVE DPS, for example) and then use that gold to buy the gear I wanted that dropped from PVE areas. Everybody walked away happy, and I could get the gear that I wanted from doing the content that I enjoyed doing. This patch, though, I'm forced into farming dungeons for things like Viper and Lich, and it's enough of a hassle that I'll probably just scrap any plans for builds I have using these sets.

Given the fact that the only real reason to play PvP is to grind the Assault and Support skill lines and that these level up really fast due to endless whining from PvE players, it's quite embarassing that PvP players have to not just grind Undaunted, but now are also forced to grind in PvE dungeons and what not to get their gear because Wrobel made those new sets so incredibly OP that there's simply no way around them.

As someone who only likes to pvp, I don't mind getting my gear from having to pve. Yeah I find it boring as hell but it feels like I'm actually doing work towards my ingame goals. RNG itself needs to be fixed, even for pve'ers.
