Well, I'm approaching 160cp finally... I'm still trying to figure out how I can deliver massive amount of overall damage to be more appealing to groups in Gold Pledges, etc. Any guidance is appreciated.

There was a pretty solid build with very specific gear back in the V14 days, since those sets will be coming back it might be possible again.. sorry don't have the specific gear/build though..

Instead of just suggesting sets for you copy/paste:

60%+ crit chance (many endgame builds have closer to 80% crit)
Buff your critical damage with the Shadow Mundus and/or Trap Beast.
After crit, get weapon damage and max stamina.
For regen, slot Siphoning Attacks and keep the buff running.

Snipe will be your single target spam ability.
    Volley running at all times.
Poison Injection running at all times.
Arrow spray spam for AOE fights.

This is your basic concept for Bow DPS, imo. Hope this helps. :)

Stamblades can pack a massive punch with a bow but tbh bow isn't a main bar weapon unless you're in PvP. Its a buff bar in PvE. You just buff up with pots, pop relentless focus, hit em with PI, then endless hail, swap to main bar apply dots and burst dmg until you have to reapply. If you're looking for single target destruction use master bow and make sure you hit em with poison injection. AoE dmg and ad annihilation get a maelstrom bow for the endless hail buff. Also they get a weapon dmg buff if they attack from stealth which is easier to do with a bow than 2h or dw

    Okay so I'm now cp190.

My gear set up is this
    4/5 Red Mountain w/ Divines
1/5 Archers Mind (I fked up, bought the wrong item, but its nice + divines)
3/5 Widowmaker (trying to get all widowmaker jewelry + boot and Legs in Divines, for poison proc)
1 Heem-Jas bow (hope to replace, bad trait)
    2 Nights Silence Axes

    1st Action Bar: (Bow), Snipe(Focused Aim)/Draining Shot(health regen)/Poison Injection/Acid Spray/Expert Hunter(Fighter crit perk) Ultimate:Death Stroke

    2nd Action Bar(dual), Ambush/killer/whirlwind/siphon/Expert hunter. Ultimate: Dawnbreaker.

    Total Crit %: 71% Bow, 72% Dual.

I'm leveling my Assassin and Siphon line, which explains the bad 2nd action bar.

(I'm a bit of an Achievement wh0re, so I was using a restro staff for heal achievements in trials/dungeons etc. lol!)

How hard are you hitting with this setup in your groups right now? What kind of numbers are you seeing when you crit and so forth?

A pure archer build is not viable in anything past regular dungeon content.

Yes, it's totally possible to clear vet dungeons with a pure archer build but you will be being carried, basically.

The problem is that bows have no support from another ranged stamina-based weapon, whereas melee weapons have two options, technically three although s/b isn't useful really for DPS.

So, you either run gimp trying to go full archer or you play in both melee and ranged roles. If you don't mind closing the gap and using melee weapons no problem.

Edit: Also, your bow will never be your main weapon in that instance. It's a support weapon outside of PvP until it gets more support from another stamina-based ranged weapon.

Don't listen to people telling you it can't be done. It isn't easy, and it will stuck to get the gear, but try following this guide.

Nice! Makin' progress. Being above 70% crit I'd recommend using the Shadow mundus to increase the damage that your crits do. Next, add the fighter's guild Trap Beast (rearming trap mophed) to your back (DW) bar. It does decent dmg and grats minor force which will increase your critical damage even more. Lastly for the skills, I would use Volley (I prefer endless hail morph for increased duration and single target dmg) and keep that running at all times.

    ...No, no...no. Nah.

Don't listen to those folks spouting off the meta. You CAN use bow for get viable endgame DPS. My PVP optimized Bow-only Stamina NB can easily tag 20-25k single target DPS in veteran dungeons. I haven't even tried completing the PVE build, so I don't even know how high I can get those numbers.

PS. Try completing one of those 5pc sets! Or even craft a 5pc of Night Mothers, Hundings, or Twice Born Star. :)

Except that build uses a melee execute so it's not a pure archer build. Thanks for helping make my point though.

Except that no where has the OP stated that he needs to be a "pure" archer build. In fact he's got a bunch of melee stuff on his bars right now so, I'm assuming he's shooting for a bow-primary build. /shrug

BTW dropping the execute and just continuing with the rotation only drops dps by like 2k, so he can stay range.
