I'm afraid to watch, until we find out if they will go through with casino crates as the higher-ups have been pushing for. I am too afraid that all the cool housing stuff will be locked behind forced gambling and the whale with the biggest paycheck is the only one who gets to enjoy all it has to offer.
The only question I am really interested in at this point is "will housing be kept completely separate from the gambling boxes."
If not I may just be done.

the houses shown in video and all i have seen are too big, and obviously will be way too expensive for me.
How much do we think they're going to be? I'm going to start grinding for in game gold now - I want my estate in Mathiisen.
Personally, not interested in houses or more cosmetic fluff, the social stuff for guilds and groups is cool but other than that is does not appeal to me, also feel like instead of focusing more on polish, bug fixing and more content, we wait until next year and get more cosmetic and vanity items...
Just for me personally it is "meh" in terms of interest, cool that they listen to plays about account wide for all characters but they need to throw account account wide for other things in the game too..but I am 100% sure a lot of "exclusive" and "timed sales" of the better cooler house items with be available for crowns only or through crown casino gambling crates....
I am interested in the crafting side, if done right that could be a huge boost to crafting, economy and other things, kinda happy even though I am not interested in housing that much I can still craft like crazy with my max crafter to help feed peoples housing addictions
What would of been cooler is if players could BUILD and CRAFT the actual houses piece by piece themselves through owning land and crafting the pieces and slowly building up their property.
Is the housing style locked to your race?

Agreed. Most of us hate the gambling crates so I feel like they gave us a housing preview to pacify us, but there really isn't enough information to get me excited about it. I totally expect some housing items to be sold for crowns, and I think that is completely appropriate, but if they shove all the nice stuff in the crates instead of putting it in the store this is nothing to get excited over.GhostwalkerLD wrote: »I'm afraid to watch, until we find out if they will go through with casino crates as the higher-ups have been pushing for. My thoughts exactly. Of course Matt Firor is all "Oh, don't worry, this is all for in-game gold only!!!!" but we've already seen how they will say crap like that to make it all sound awesome, and then by the time they actually implement it in the game? Nope.
Besides, we've already seen housing items from crown-crates in the datamining threads and post, so clearly they are not separate even at this stage.
Interesting catch. Are castles and mansions going to be considered "houses" or not? I guess we'll find out eventually!First of all - i opened new thread just for discussion about furniture crafting

Second of all
i am sadly going to shatter some dreams
it was mentioned in video that houses are going to be in 3zsizes: small, medium, large.
Even large houses are not all that large in this video. -just like 2 story medium building
btw
small: -ultra small houses, like those pod bosmer tree houses, or argonian mud house
medium: -one story house, not to big either
large: two story house, should be medium sized inside
This means all that mansions and castles that all exploring players recorded -are either
a) crown store ONLY
b)maybe a guild houses ???
I expect them to sell some features for crowns in order to make money, and I think that's fair as long as they're in the store to purchase and not hidden in gambling crates. And one more reminder: it looks that "containers" like wardrobe or chest are going to be store exclusive option -this was datamined before, bui i cant find it right now

In general I agree, although I'd like to craft at least some of those nice things too rather than buy everything with Crowns. (I'm at nine traits on everything and I want to get some use out of that!) But if I have to gamble for my embassy in Craglorn Rohais will just have to go without; I'll fluff it as 'its creation is still stuck in the bowels of the monster that is Aldmeri paperwork.'
You could be on to something there. Comparing with what has been found already and recorded on UESP, there are three houses for each race, except Breton, Khajiit, and Dunmer, which each have four. It's quite likely those extra houses are three of the five datamined Crown Store houses, and they are most likely the Daggerfall Castle, the Ebonheart Manse, and the S'ren-ja Estate as the biggest ones. Size-wise, the Colovian Mansion near Arenthia and the Redguard Mansion at Stros M'Kai could also fall in that category, and that would make five, but there are not yet any alternative third houses in those styles.Second of all

This is ridiculous. There needs to be a better way for PVPers to convert AP to gold if this is the case.
I have 20k to my name and 14m AP. :'(

Furthermore, except for the Colovian Imperial style, each of the races' smallest house sizes seem to be identifiable by the fact they don't have a walled garden.
