Suggestion: costume/clothing slots

I've a suggestion - add duplicate slots for clothing which will override visuals of worn armor but not affect any stats.
Having so many useless non-armor clothing assets in the game feels like waste of existing resources. No one wants to wear the clothing items since they have no combat stats. But being able to wear these items/parts of costumes "on top" of usual armor would be a great possibility to customize looks of the characters without messing up the stats!
I'd gladly pay crowns to get permanent account-wide access to "item slots for visuals overriding". Anyone else wants to see this feature?

I don't know if it's likely to happen, but Star Wars: The Old Republic has a similar feature.

Personally I'd like it for weapons, because IMHO the steel Primal 2-handed sword is awesome but only practical for a character around lvl 16-20.

The style changes with materials and IMHO gets a lot uglier later on.

There are a few other items like that and it would be nice to be able to lock down appearance.

I'd like to see it, but I think it's unlikely because it would make all the costumes that are identical to armour useless.

This part has merit as it would function in the same way that costumes do. A pity that there aren't more clothing items in the game, if you ask me.

    Would really love this!
Some armours I love the look of lower level sets but not so much later ones. Also haven't found any robes I really like but would probably wear some of the dresses if it was in addition to armour

    Great suggestion @CossackHD <3 ,

    The way I understand it:
You get two slots for every armor & weapon piece:
    * 1 solely for the combat effect
    * 1 solely for visuals
    * The visuals slots having default the content of your combat slots when not filled.

I think that when this is implemented, it will be very, very much used by the ppl :)

But it will be a very strong competitor with Costumes sold at the Crown Store.

=> there must be some element where ZOS gets additional revenue.
When these additional visuals slots would cost Crowns per character, the additional revenue will dry up over time.
But it is a way to do it. Once you got 1 character with visuals, you probably like that so much that you will do it with any other character that you play a lot.
The other way is that the continuous use should cost RL money: => it is behind the Subscription wall.
But I would really loathe that you would be forced to sub to get this.

I made in another thread a suggestion that would lead to the same technical effect here:

Another way to reach the same goal could be to make your own costume in your desired style.
To make your personalised costume !

    * You would have to buy an "empty" Costume from the Crown Store without precise shape and without textures.
    * A Master Crafter or you yourself can make a kind of hologram snapshot of your desired style or style combination of the Armor set geared. This hologram snapshot can be traded 1to1 or in Guilds.
    * When you activate the hologram snap shot on your empty costume, the costume fixates and becomes account bound.
    * A new tab to Appearance would have to be added for your personalised costumes.

This should be a win-win-win for all three parties: The player, the crafter and ZOS / the Crown Store. Also the Guilds.
It also offers more possibilities than only restyling,
    for example:
    1. You like to have a 7/7 LA appearance of a style, but you wear a 5-1-1. The same with HA and MA.
    2. You like a certain style very much in golden, but you can only afford purple, especially when trying out all those new sets.
    3. You like a certain style but only in the more plain make-up of the blue upgrade.
    4. You like the more blue-ish appearance of the CP140 HA, instead of the reddish CP 160, but want to gear up ofc in CP 160.
    5. You like a more plain look, for example MA Hide Armor of lvl 16-24, but are already lvl 50.
    6. You like a certain disguise and want the costume version of it. Perhaps all the more because you want to use a certain Hair Style on your disguise, which is currently impossible (you get always your vanilla hair when wearing a disguise)
    7. You do not like the asymetrical Shoulders of a Monster set, but none of the sold costumes is to your liking.
    8. You like a certain combination of different styles, but that combination is not viable for combat.
    9. etc

All in all, I like your suggestion more: more user friendly, intuitive and less hassle :)
