There's no way at some point they have some limited edition houses and adds to the house. Such as a mages tower, ship etc.That's easy money for them, they won't pass that up.

I see, that may indeed be their plan! (EDIT: and Firor does not even bother himself with lying: "give them the whole lot of cool things and then allow them to put them in the house").
Perhaps they should also introduce some rent or tax and threaten players they would lose their free apartment with everything inside if they do not pay (either a lot of gold, or crowns). That would be nice, second layer of subscription.

I can see the rent thing for the inns, but not in crowns sorry. Also They are going to make crownstore funiture but I am betting they are adding rare motif pieces to build certain furniture that will also be added to crownstore as buyable and possibly the huge huge houses like Castles they will make cost a lot of gold or have an option to buy with crowns for maybe 2000 crowns.
So basically they will make it so you can get everything without paying real money but add options to pay for certain things that are very rare in the game to get with crowns. Now for example I imagine the castles will cost at least 1 million gold or half that in price. They will add the option to buy it with that price or buy it with crowns for like 3000s.

I did wonder what the fuss was about, furniture crafting? Really? There has to be more to it.

Another crown store scheme to make people buy stuff does spring to mind unfortunately, i did hope for a useful space for players just like a real house.

An armoury would be sweet! Store staves and sheilds and weapons

Wardrobe full of armour sets

A kitchen for food would be cool!

I am stoked for housing. This feature will finally make this game 98% of the Elder Scrolls Online experience I was hoping for.

-I'm looking at you Phased-locked Quest Areas.-

I dream that this housing system would offer the freedom of creativity on the level of Wildstar but... I am a realist. With the info presented thus far I am expecting something more akin to a SWTOR level of design.

Still.. fingers crossed.

It's great that we all get a free starter apartment but my question is, will everyone that wants to buy a house be able to buy a house or will there be limited numbers of houses? And, if it is a limited number, what's to prevent one person from owning a large number of them thus preventing other players from being able to purchase their first home?

The large castles have to be 5000 crowns prolly more because the charge 5000 for motifs so a special edition house has to be at least 5000 but I would think way more.

I hope you can choose where you enter your quest apartment. So if a roleplayer wants to pretend to 'live' in one particular town he could just stand in front of an NPC house and instead of breaking in he could enter his own instanced apartment.

There are currently no houses present in DLC areas. Not saying that there won't be in the future, but none of the preparatory world building from Updates 11 and 12 has added any there.

I can't believe they're going to offer many houses for in-game gold! I thought it would all be crown store based. My faith is renewed! Obviously there will be other crowns store houses and furniture but still, this is fantastic!
Wait... I'm gonna have to start saving up all my gold... but I haven't collected all the motifs yet! ...Yep, I'm gonna be broke!
