Craglorn?

I just logged on and went to upper Craglorn for a normal resource loop. Everything I have done there has been reset, even the location discoveries. All my active quests for this zone have been deleted. I ran around a while and mostly only saw jute and iron ore, lvl 10 type mats. This was the only semi-challenging place in the world for me to solo, now it is pointless to even go there. Sure, some completionists can go there now and do some stuff they didn't do before, but I don't see any replay-ability here now at all. Not even a place to load up on decent mats. Am I missing something here?

Mats scale to your crafting level now so you need to put skill points in the first category to get higher level mats.

You can still get repeatable quests.

Damn, now that is stupid. That means I have to have a toon at all crafting tier levels now to harvest what I need?

I was a full crafter on all, but re-pecced recently to try out some new builds, never put the points back into the first category cuz I don't have much need to make stuff right now.

Half of the mats should be at your character level, and half at your crafting level. Also, they reset things so that you can re-do the updated quests (if you want).

Did you read the patch notes? Craglorn has been revamped to make it solo friendly. The mats change is a One Tamriel thing, mats scale to a combination of character level or craft level. I think they went a little overboard resetting wayshrines and quests, but that's zos for you.

I can live with the half and half, sure didn't seem that way earlier though, guess just unlucky.
I have been slowly doing the craglorn quests with this guy, have over 50% of the zone completed, now I guess it's back to the drawing board on that.

Yea, I read the patch notes, can't remember every single item. I guess I am just not liking the scaling thing a whole lot, really no need for any kind of lvl progression, which is what I am pretty much used to.

50% of resource nodes will give character-level raw mats, 50% will give crafting-level raw mats. Most writ reward containers will also now contain 25 random level mats to plug the hole for mats that are neither your character level or crafting level.

Yea, I am hating this. I have one character that I would gather and craft with for all my other characters. Now I cannot unless I respec my crafting points to a different level whenever I need something. No offense to anyone else, but this really ruins it for me. Gonna be good for the economy though perhaps.

I love the change. Now I don't need to bother with wandering around to a dozen zones and collecting different materials. I just do writs and those other material tiers basically collect themselves. It will be a little awkward at first. But after a month or two, the economy is going to be swimming in every material from every tier you can imagine. Remember that lots of endgame players who would never go back and farm cotton or ebon ingots or whatever, players who just did writs for chance at gold upgrade mats, will now be getting those random crafting mats from writs. There will be more materials of every level entering the economy than ever before. I would not be surprised if after a while lower level materials become like Ta and Jejota, where they are so cheap people are practically giving them away.

Also, if you need flax for an alt, it is because you have a Level 16-25 character. That Level 16-25 character will find flax all over Tamriel, no matter what zone they in. So your alts should have a very easy time gathering whatever they need.
