ELIGIBILITY
While we’d love for everyone across the globe to have a chance at winning one of the great trips, local sweepstakes rules make this impossible. There are different competition rules per country, and even across states, and that ultimately determined the final list of eligible countries and states.
No only do we get the thin end of the servers we don't get to enter competitions.....

But it's highly unlikely the law simply says foreign companies can (or cannot) run contests there. There will be very specific conditions for what is now allowed, and what must be done under a licence.
For example most of Canada is included in this contest, but if a Canadian wins they have to answer a maths question because Canadian law says you cannot run a contest where winning requires no skill or participation beyond entering without a licence. Other examples I've heard before include requiring a licence if the prize is over a certain value, or they say at least one person from their country must win, or the company running the contest must either have an office in the country or an in-country partner running it on their behalf.
I'm not familiar with either New Zealand or Australian law so I don't know what the issue would be, but you could probably find out if you wanted to.

I am aware of this and I understand it's not in ZOS's interest to refine the competition rules and procedures for the whole of the Southern Hemisphere and other pockets of special places. I've never tried to enter a ZOS competition as most have been irrelevant in my life but this I thought was a bit more ''adult''. So I was just a little disappointed
I for one am happy that one of the dream destinations is my back yard so I'll just back away from the ps4 and step outside!

Except it's not.
Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Western Australia each have their own unique acts, legislation, and restrictions. Vastly different requirements for fees, permits, and advertising approval.
You can't really call Australia a single country as far as promotions are concerned.signing off0 -

High Elves fits perfectly in NZ. As a born and raised Scandinavian I totally understand why they chose Switzerland rather than any country in Scandinavia. Switzerland is known for its snow and skiing. Scandinavia barely has snow, even in the winter unless you go all the way up north. But there's nothing to do up there.
