So my friend just completed her writs and they dropped a Wrothgar survey but she doesnt have the DLC. I am assuming this is intended to try and push more people to buy the DLC's? Seems a bit sleazy (

They can drop writs for anywhere now its pretty random. Probably just an oversight I know they changed a few things already so they didnt force you into Wrothgar probably just missed the survey thing. Might post it in bugs so they see it doubt they are reading much of the garbage being spewed on GD today LOL.

I'd say it's a bug or they actually meant what they said in the notes awhile back.

I wouldn't call it sleazy. There's a few other dlc components that people without dlc have to deal with.

    Isn't new. Isn't sleazy.

I would say this is another nail for writs as its less beneficial to do them if the surveys drop ina reas you cant access without going through a paywall.

This also limits the only decent way to get golden tempers to upgrade gear so in my eyes its a sleazy move from Z0$ to pressure players to buy or sub.

Actually, it is new. Before this update, you got surveys for the land in which you turned in the writ (turn in the writ in Belkarth, resulting survey is in Craglorn). If you didn't have the DLC, you would not be directed to turn in a writ there.

Now, you can turn in your writs at a non-DLC location but the surveys are random (today I turned in a writ at Belkarth and got a survey for The Rift), and some of them are in DLC locations. This is entirely unfair to those that do not own said DLCs, and is likely just an oversight.

How is it not new? The update was today. It was not like that before today, so it is definitely new.

As to whether or not it was intended only zos can answer that. I would guess it was not intended but who knows. Best thing to do is submit a ticket.

I have always made a point of doing half my writs to Craglorn purely for the chance of nirncrux when collecting the surveys. If I am going to get fewer Craglorn surveys that it is possible that I stop doing the writs. I don't have a problem going elsewhere with the surveys as long as I get the level material I need, just Craglorn for nirncrux was handy.

I did read in the notes that they have increased the nirncrux drop rate from normal Craglorn nodes (presumably to make up for the survey changes), so we will see how that plays out.

Sorry, messing around on PTS skewed my memory. Still don't view it as sleazy.
