Version I and II of dungeons

How do you activate both versions of the dungeons? I partially figured out travelling to the front of the dungeon then allows you to teleport to version II but not all of the dungeons listed "discovered dungeon II" when I traveled to the front of it. I even went inside one of them (which listed a prompt for version I and version II) but after leaving it still didn't provide an option to travel to the II.

✭That used to be determined by changing your dungeon status from Normal to Veteran. I doubt that's changed. I can't say for sure as I'm still at work....NA Server - Kildair0 -

It's changed. If you have both dungeons discovered, clicking on the wayshrine in the map will prompt you to choose which dungeon to travel to. The Dungeon Finder will list both to queue easily, and by walking up to the dungeon itself in the world, you discover both dungeons. By trying to enter this way, it will give you a quest dialogue to pick the dungeon you want.@Mic1007

That's the interesting part. I re-discovered Wayrest by walking near it and it allows (via map) to select I or II. Same goes for Spindleclutch (I walked to the front door, it listed discovered version II) and then it was available on my map.
