    Even after deleting the entire game + addons, I hate to tell you this...

    It doesn't solve the issue.

    Is this true? Has anyone else gotten this hiccup with the DL-ing so far?

    Ooooooh, so that's what those Windows Thingies were.

    Yeah, I had to reinstall whole game too. But oh well. At least it gives me time to make a few cups of tea :)

    It only restarted some machines, no idea why.. mine never restarted.

    Same happened to me, the patch triggered some kind of a window update that automatically restarted without even asking. The launcher couldn't apparently handle the mid install restart and downloaded the whole game again. Luckily i have a fast internet and it's done already.

    Got 2 blank folders now

    Apparently its now downloading the whole EU folder again
    Why do a launcher upgrade - WHICH IS CAUSING THE PROBLEMS with a major patch update.

    Yep.
    - Launched launcher
    - Download PTS update (one was pending somehow)
    - Start Live update. Thing asks me if I want NA or EU. I tell him EU.
    - Windows 7 prompt saying that appli probably hasn't installed correctly
    - I tell him to carry on anyway
    - Windows 7 reboots without warning or asking
    - Upon reboot, launcher downloads 40Gb.
    - Still at it...

    Windows 10.1 here and no reboot. I've been asked to install VC redistributable, like the cliend did not check if they are altrady in place.

    Every single patch, I open the launcher and click the update button and then get an error message. Every single update I take the time out to leave a bug report, yet every single update I have the same problems.

    They should change the button text from "Update" to "Crash" or "Error Message".

    Bug confirmed on Windows 10 1511 with shelved 1607. VC redistributable setup confirmation triggers immediate Windows reboot.
    Upgraded launcher screws up the directory name. Possibly 40 GB are downloaded in a "The Elder Scrolls Online EU" folder. The original "The Elder Scrolls Online" folder with the correct installation is left untouched while downloading.

    Aborting the download process, deleting the newly created folder and renaming the old folder to "The Elder Scrolls Online EU" (just adding " EU") did the trick for me. Now he is loading the 2.3 GB patch.

    Oh, and while doing so, that piece of undergrad code accident (aka launcher) renamed the "The Elder Scrolls Online EU" back to "The Elder Scrolls Online"....

    IMO software testing = QA. QA = cost and cost = less profit. So da hell with it.

    Why not pushing the update archives first before upgrading the launcher remains a mystery to me. So there is no point in leaving the launcher open to pull the game update... it needs to upgrade itself first.
