    Sometimes patches may corrupt your add-on settings. It's only ever happened to me once, but reconfiguring those settings was an absolute nightmare.

    Too late now, but I also snapshot my character information in case there is some reset (attribute/skill/champion points) that they did not mention prior to the Update. I don't think this is an issue for this Update, but handy to remember for future updates.

    well, anyone who is running some specific build should always write down the settings: skills, gear, CPs, just in case..

    I use MyBuild, an out of date addon that lists gear, attribute, and champion points. I really need an addon that can summarize how skill points are allocated in a single screencap. Any suggestions, anyone?

    Yes copy and save this file, I copy and save these files also the 'ini' / 'user settings' file in EVERY game I have ever played , nothing worse than logging after a patch to find some things have been reset to default .

    C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\usersettings (if your EU it would be the 'liveeu' file)
    This file saves all your video.audio, interface settings, everything except addons

    I constantly update my saved ini and saved variable files every week, far better to be safe than sorry :)

    yes, such an addon would be nice indeed.

    but anyhow, it is not so much to write down, I use MS Word for that.

    OMG! what are you talking about? Is it that bad? I have to save all my folders?

    I remoted into my home computer to update but never got past the update.

    Not sure what I should worry about "Hurricane Matthew" or "Hurricane ZOS".

    PSA for PC-EU

    Another thread from some EU players that have "lost" their SavedVariables settings.

    There may be a new _Archive folder in your ESO MyDocuments location. If they are there you can re-point Minion to it and re-load the settings, Or you should be able to just copy them back to the normal folder location.

    well, usually (like 99,9% of the updates) it updates without problems, but just in case

    Fix for all EU players that "lost all addons " in Minion (and game)

    Go to
    C:\Users\< username >\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online
    and copy ALL files from Live folder into new (empty) liveeu folder

    this should fix it.

    thx OP for this thread, for me i came like bit too late, i now created backup just by Minion option ;D

    This is why years ago i set my LIve folder up as a linked folder with my LiveEu folder, now anything i put in my Live folder automatically also appears in my LiveEU folder. The reason i did that at the time was because the Curse client only worked on the US folders and you couldn't reconfigure it, so when i linked the folders i could install add-ons with Curse without having to copy them manually.
