Excited for the 2nd/3rd/4th Cycles of Crown Crates?

So we currently have the Atronach mounts to burn hundreds of dollars on thanks to those super popular Crown Crates. Can't go placing cool mounts on the Crown Store anymore since this is the new trend, right?

Well it turns out we have already found the next two three themes for Crown Crate cycles:
• Skeleton
• Wild Hunt
• Dwemer
(icon pics below)

We are nearing Halloween so I expect Skeleton to arrive in the next cycle, with Wild Hunt likely waiting for Spring. Chances are there is an unfound snowy-themed batch of mounts which may cover Crown Crates for the Winter season. Remember, Crown Crates will be getting lots of attention from now on. This is simply the introduction.

Are you excited for Skeletal and Wild Hunt mounts, taking into consideration what you must do to obtain them? Or those totally lore-friendly and not money-hungry Dwemer mounts.

My thoughts

Personally, I am not too happy that I will never be able to buy these mounts, since I cannot justify burning $100+ on a single mount if I'm lucky

And though I don't care about there being "Crown Gambling Crates" in ESO, I think it's terrible that you cannot buy the same items off the Crown Store directly. The implementation of these cash grab crates is really bad. Should've been a gamble to get whatever you wanted for a cheaper/more expensive price, not a scheme to force people to spend hundreds for any new cool mount. Alienates like 95% of your playerbase. Gg ZOS. Greed may eventually kill this game.

Do I look forward to watching more effort and production going towards flashy, non-lore friendly sparklemounts & RNGesus shrines than is directed toward in-game items? No.

Do I look forward to the surge of annoyed forum posts about said new sparklemounts when they emerge on cue from their greedmother's womb? Nah, not really.

Am I going to let these things ruin my day? Hell no. I'll happily avoid these crates like the damn plague and keep on playing eso as if they did not exist.

Holy crap I thought it would take at least a week for the first give me my second crown crate gambeling/lottery box fix but thanks to power of data mining we got the first thread before the lottery boxes even made it to live servers.

This is powerful life lesson, never ever underestimate the power of gambeling, the lottery, shiny new digital things, and the ability of people to surprise you with their capacity to consume all of the above at rate faster then you can complain about it or create it.

But the whole crown crate BS-idea is terrible. I rather pay 5k Crowns flat for a unique mount if I have to than gambling for hundreds of dollars.

Be careful, if these crown crates are not generating enough money to fill ZOS greed, they will start pumping in even more powerful stuffs inside it to boost the sales. As for now we only have the 3x more powerful version than Psijic Ambrossia in that, but who knows there might be 3x more powerful foods/drinks/poisons or even tempers upgrade materials in there in the future.

So yeah make sure you guys keep throwing at least 1 grand on these lootboxes per season

We're not actually getting the first version of the crates yet. They won't be in Update 12, instead they're coming "later this year". Which means it will be a long time before we see the others.

My hope is that ZOS will make the trivial changes they announced, then put them on the PTS ahead of their next planned launch date, get as much of a negative reaction as they did this time and pull them again for more "improvements".

It wouldn't surprise me if they just put them straight in the game and act like we're excited for them, but I'd like to be wrong on that.

But it's very unlikely we'll see the 2nd round of crates coming at Halloween. They'll want to keep the first ones up for a few weeks at least.

I'd be unlikely to buy one of these on the crown store tbh, I would prefer mounts that look like living animals that could potentially (at least in the TES universe) be trained and ridden, not weird undead/skeletal/atronach ***.

Also having spent a load of fake crowns on gamble crates on the PTS, and spent the equivalent of $350 an ended up with 2 legendary items for all that money, there is no way on this earth that I will be buying any crown crates at all.

if these were straight up store purtchases i would be using my eso+ crowns and purchasing extra crowns for the mounts i want, i did cancel my sub but unfortunatly i need it for the dlc so until i can buy those outright, as it stands now i no longer support this in game store and i no longer purchase extra crowns.

I await the first person to be sat posing on one in the hope all those around them will be sat there in awe at their stupendous mount. Whilst the reality is, I'll be sat there thinking "s/he has more money than sense" and laughing because I know the chances are pretty high that person burned through £200 to get some reskined mount.

Cool mounts, just genuinely don't get the whining about the crates. Like you don't have to have / buy them. It's just pixels, if you cant afford them don't chance it life will still be ok.
