You could do it, but black rose isn't the best for magicka classes imo.

Try 5 kags, 5 amberplasm if you want more sustain. You could use black rose, but I really don't see the point.

On a mDK i am using 5 kags, 3 willpower, 2 torugs(primary weapons) and 2 seducer(secondary weapons). Shoulder and helm are kept free/variable so i can change between monster sets depending on situation.

it's just bad on a magplar. if you want to use a super-strong (cancerous?) heavy set that doesn't look like magicka on first sight, go for fasalla or reactive. otherwise just go for useful sets and make sure to have at least 5 heavy

I normally play stamplar and fairly successfully at it but wanna give magika a run out just to see as I'm bored of doing same skills all the time.
I have stam sorc ,stamplar and stam nb!
Any suggestions for a decent ic magplar build.
Do I wanna go light or heavy or both?
I have most monster sets

Black Rose for magicka build is useful if you want to block cast skills. As a templar you have a lot of channelled abilities so other sets will be more useful. Black rose will be a good choice for mDK and sap NB.

5 Julianos 5 Transmutation(snb back bar+jewels) 2 skoria 2 torugs(dw front bar)

You can swap the transmutation out for vicious death on dw bar while running 2 seducer on snb bar

Do what works for you, never know what works until you test it. That's the biggest problem with this game, very few test things on their own.

Magplar has been the most diverse class for awhile, there's plenty of good sets when you get over the kags, reactive and transmutation etc meta.

Really depends how much you hold block and spam breath of life. If you do lots... well black rose is your set.
