Why is Blade of Woe kill and Vampire feeding done by the same "X" key? Could this be improved ZOS??

Hi guys, hi ZOS,

i just realized it yesterday, playing my first vampire char (I just started the Dark Brotherhood questline with her), that the Blade of Woe kill is also done by pressing "X", but the same goes for Vampire feeding (also done by "X").
It somehow depends on the distance to target, but still it happened to me more times, that I wanted to feed, but have done the Blade of Woe kill and vice versa.

I was trying to change the key to something else in Settings-Controls menu, but I did not find these skills under separate key biddings.

Is there any way how to do it? Or is it intended/bugged?

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_KaiSchober @ZOS_RichLambert

ZOS, would it not be possible to add a "bid another key" option for these skills to the Settings-Controls menu?

This has been a complaint since db pts. Honestly my guess is xbone doesn't have enough keys to bind short of other combo keys...which would be acceptable.

Actually no clue why they never fixed it

Aye, I accidently fed on so many NPC's while I was about to Woe them. Needless bounties and mad NPC's.

The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

I'm on ps4 we have at least 4 keys unused on the touchpad we don't use that could easily bind to ps vita as well on the screen.

I know the computer as a huge amount, so I'm going to blame Microsoft for fubar on xbone

I reported this problem when the Dark Brotherhood dlc first hit live. Of course ZOS has done nothing about it. There is a add on that will fix the issue. It is called Vampire Woe. It provides an option to disable Vampire Feeding when using the X key.

It was a surprise to see them on the same key, but I have multiple vampire characters, and it's not been an issue. Just need to pay attention is all.

yes, I have seen that addon, but I somehow did not understand how it works. Now after reading this part I finaly understand
You can set a keybind to turn this functionality on or off in realtime when you want to feed.

I have to test it out today :).

    Thank you!

On pc you can install an addon that turns off vampire feeding.

Since they made 100% sure in the db patch that there were no reason what so ever to feed as a vampire as it takes away your vampire abilities if you do, then it is no issue not to be able to feed.

They should just have added the no_feed flag to the basic game options on console to fix the problem.

I am not sure what you mean, but nothing takes your vamp abilities away. The only thing feeding/not feeding changes is fire resistance/magicka costs of vamp abilities

Heh they changed that in the db dlc. Now you lose the stealth speed at stage 3, you lose the damage resistance at stage 2 and the mag/stam regen at stage 1.

So there is no reason what so ever to feed anymore as a vampire.

There is a game flag in the game that turns off the feeding synergy, the addon use that flag. And since there is no reason to feed anymore they should just add that flag to the base game options.

I have learn when I come to this problem is that the closer you are is when you can activate the blade of woe. Once I learn that really do not have that problem anymore. The only time really is when a npc turns around or moves out range very fast and switches from blade of woe to feeding but I just consider that just an assassin mistake.

You can spam mist form to get back to stage 4. (or any other stage you like).

I can only imagine that the reason blade of woe and vampire feeding is the same key is because consoles. I play using a keyboard and have over 300 key and key+modifier combinations at my disposal, so I just assume it is to cater to gamepads/controllers.

Dark Stalker: This passive ability now only functions when you are in Vampire Stage 4.

Regrettebly i have eso on PS4 instead of my xbox because i wanted to play with friends, what extra keys does PS4 have? far as i knew the only difference with control is the gimmick touchpad and dedicated 'share' button.
