No credit is given for killing Quintus, therefore making the pledge quest unable to be completed for a silver key. Was this way last time the pledge came up and hasn't been fixed. Have already submitted an in game support ticket. Throwing this here for visibility from the devs(hopefully) and also to let everyone know so they don't bother trying to complete it until it's fixed.

✭You can complete it. When he gets low on health just use light attacks until the gargoyle jumps down and smashes him. You are killing him before he summons the gargoyle. You must slow down on damaging him when health gets low.0 -

Do not burn him down, we slowed down towards the end, he gets smashed and you get credit. I can confirm this.Conan, what is good in life?

Also....how would that even make sense? The quest/pledge condition is "Kill Quintus"...why would killing him not update that quest condition? It's dysfunctional and needs fixed.Edited by bigted209 on October 3, 2016 5:48PM1 -

✭✭✭Technically it is STILL broken. This issue was present last time the pledge came around too. I just went to check Quintus out myself and unlike last time he didn't even go for his staff this time.You can complete it. It doesn't matter if you kill him or not, he and the Gargoyle are not the issue. You fight him, he summons the Gargoyle, Gargoyle comes down and kills him, you kill Gargoyle, you get quest credit for killing Quintus. That is how it is supposed to go. The problem console is facing is that quest credit is NOT applying when it happens exactly how it should, thus it is impossible to complete the pledge.
Zenimax, I hope you fix this before One Tamriel drops. For those still unsure about what is going on, it's this:

Note that Quintus never went for his Staff, and the Pledge did not update with his demise after the Gargoyle was slain.
