Top Magicka DPS Class?

So, in stamina DKs are currently pulling the top DPS from what I've heard/seen. Which class is pulling the most DPS as a magicka character? I pretty much have one of everything so just want to know what to focus on. Thanks in advance!

    Stam sorc better then stam dk.

    With maelstrom flurry nerf, stam templar and NB will get really close as well, stamplar have 10% crit dmg and benefits from two 5 piece sets and monster sets, while NB have strong execute and more crit chance. Stam DK have no stam dmg passives other then 20% increase dmg while inside standard of might, and a poison dot.

    But stam DKs have the best single target DoT in the game. They pull 55k+ in trials and 32s on bloodspawn. I haven't seen any other class get even close to these numbers..

    But my question is which is the best Magicka DPS class?

    Honestly it doesn't really matter, most things outside of vet trials is just stack and burn anyways.
    Outside of vet trials it seems the game is designed for 10k dps or less to actually see the mechanics. Over 20k and you can basically ignore everything.
    Every class without Maelstrom weapons can exceed 20k.

    I'm trying to run vMoL and our group has *** ton of stam characters. So if I'm going to gear out a Magicka character, I might as well gear out the one that is currently pulling the highest DPS numbers in trials.

    should be correctly. But all magicka-classes are pretty close together in terms of DPS-

    No idea, I hate my Mag Sorc thus he is marked retired in my signature. I am just going off of what I see in vet trial groups.

    In vet trials magicka templars are the best, but all magicka classes are pretty close.

    DK is the highest dps mag class in the game but is forced melee so you dont really get out of the situation of having to be melee. Mag sorc is 2nd place then mag templar in 3rd and mag nb in last. Magplar is also forced melee until execute though. So if you're making a mag toon to avoid having so many melee then sorc is your best bet.

    The longer a fight is, the more mag DK shines. The sustain on mag DK is much better than other classes. Mag Templar pulls better numbers in shorter fights, and has a great execute (whereas mag DK has none), but mag Templar goes OoM eventually. A properly played DK never does.

    In terms of numbers i agree with all of you but at the end of the day its just the person playing the character as yolo wizard has proven that mag sorc can almost compete with the most beadtly of players. stam sorc may be higher than stam dk but only if ur a good player im not fixing to let a stam sorc beat meXD

    Only problem is that magDK needs to be up close too. If I'm going melee range, then I'm going to use my stamDK. I need a ranged magicka DPS. So in that case I think the consensus here is to go with my magSorc.

    Now I just need to get the stupid meteor on him then..

    I haven't seen any stamSorcs pull higher DPS then my stamDK. Even on Bloodspawn tests stamDKs tend to have the fastest times (I think fastest I've seen is 32s). :smiley:

    I agree with sneaky. Mag dk pulls the highest magicka dps if they can sit in melee the whole time, but magsorc is right behind them and can do full dps from range

    I also think that magicka sorcerer is a strong contender for top total damage throughout the entire trial

    But as was said before, all of the magicka dps are very well balanced right now.
