I'm not sure how advanced ZoS's plans are for player housing, or what features they intend to include, the ETA, etc etc. TBH I'm not even sure how extensively I would use such a feature, since I'm not a huge player housing enthusiast. I'm sure it'll be fine and I'll check it out, but I've never really thought about it much in the past. Many players obviously want it for RP purposes, and I'm sure I'd eventually check it out as well.
But one thing I often find missing in housing systems, especially in single-player games (i.e. Skyrim housing mods), is functionality and "usefulness". I always find that if I installed a housing mod in Skyrim I would never even go there, because there is no real reason to do so, other than say "oh, neat."
So I was thinking that maybe ESO could implement a sort of system for my own characters to interact with one another. For example, I could select one of my houses to be my "character hub" where all my created toons on that server would hang out, and sandbox/idle/chatter or whatever at the same place, and I could interact with them in order to transfer items, for example... thus saving me a trip to the bank. Instead of using the bank as a mule between my characters, I could simply give them the stuff.
In terms of details, any number of things might be possible (or impossible, only ZoS can really know). But I was just thinking about the mod
Familiar Faces for Skyrim and thought this would be an interesting twist for ESO... but perhaps on a more simplified level.
Of course I can't know for sure just how practical something like this would be. But it would be kind of neat and would allow for some practical applications as well as some RP/fantasy messing around for players who want to believe that their characters all exist in the same world space.
Thoughts? Please be constructive. I'm just throwing this out there as food for thought.
