Nearly every single thing about this game is getting worse lately.
What are you doing?
- We don't know.
What are you thinking?
- Arby's
Do you want people to stop playing?
- As long as they still pay us.
Do you even play this game?
- Yes, we play stamina.
According to a poll on this site,
a lot more than half of your customers are against the RNG crates you are adding to the crown store. This number could be worse, as many players are stating they wish they could change their vote because they feel they were mislead by the initial promises made by ZOS about this system. Not only do you constantly say one thing and do another, but your crown store system is always inching its way to being an unfair system. Nobody wants exclusive items locked behind RNG. We already hate your terrible choices when it comes to RNG. It looks like the next stop for the crown store is predatory practices that give people with gambling addiction, a serious mental illness, just another way to lose control of their lives.
According to countless threads and comments that I don't even need to link to because there are so many of them, the stamina meta has gone far enough and a lot of magicka builds need some love. So what do you do? You add more awesome stamina sets, show a complete lack of knowledge about what magicka users want in a set (especially healers), and add new weapon ultimates that heavily favor stamina users, since the magicka ones are garbage compared to existing options. Let's make permanent block easier
because that definitely isn't annoying already. Let's give stamina DPS another single-target nuke because
the absurd damage they already did, paired with seemingly endless dodging wasn't enough. Let's give healers a single-target ultimate with little useful utility
despite every class but templars being in desperate need of a BoL / HtD equivalent. Let's give magicka DPS an ultimate that is pound-for-pound
less useful than meteor and a lot of class ultimates.
One Tamriel is also a concept I'm not entirely sold on. I love the idea of being able to directly interact with more players outside of Cyrodiil. I love the idea of having current silver / gold zones feel alive. I hate the fact that I already often disconnect upon zoning into Mournhold because you can't figure out how to manage server load. Are we to assume this issue will only get worse with you trying to cram everyone into the same place? No, it's not my PC, for those of you waiting in the wings with an "upgrade your potato" comment. You've also removed the ability for me to harvest low level materials for my alts, once again punishing players who want to play an alt.
Your itemization and loot tables are a huge mess. The grind is awful. We hate it. Far too often, getting the gear you want comes down to RNG. RNG is even more annoying when your loot tables include traits nobody in their right mind would want. Infused Maelstrom weapons? How useful! I could run Veteran Maelstrom Arena until I'm blue in the face and not get the item I want. The simple fact is nobody wants to have to spend 50-100 hours in a single piece of content to have a
solid chance of getting the item they need. This is especially true for content with such a high skill floor as VMA. I'm 'good' at VMA and I hate it. I can't wait to get the last couple of items I need and never touch this content again. Then I'll spend my time grinding away at another piece of content until I hate it, too. Or maybe I'll play a game that rewards players for their efforts in a fair, predictable manner. There have been countless suggestions that would solve this problem, but ZOS has shown over and over that they don't care to listen. A more predictable means of obtaining the weapons you want or a re-traiting system would go a long way to making older content fun again, but let's keep working on punishing magicka users, ruining perfectly good systems, and pushing content nobody asked for.
The current course of this game is a masterclass in what not to do for the long-term success of an MMO.
ZOS removed the video I had previously posted below for "profanity" despite the warning I posted in bold lettering above the video and the fact that it's completely optional to click play. This site is age gated and it s for a game rated M, but apparently a video with a single profane word is too much for us to handle. So imagine the man below yelling "it's time to stop" while shaking the clock violently.
