Any downtime estimate for tonight's maintenance?

As the servers are all coming down 4 hours earlier than normal and they are all coming down at the same time, does this mean that they will be down for longer than normal?

Just that they don't normally all come down together and they do not say 'Patch Maintenance', so I presume it is something else and they may be down for an extended period.

    You are right, I should know better but it would be nice to have some communications as to what they are doing when they change schedules like this. I don't expect that because it is coming down 4 hours earlier than normal it will be back up 4 hours earlier than normal - but I am not as thick as some. >:)

    I would assume it's backend work hence the earlier start time so expect anywhere from 6 to 10 hours.

    Tomorrow morning beginning at 2am EDT / 7:00 BST, we'll be performing some datacenter infrastructure upgrades and will require maintenance on all megaservers. We're estimating this will take approximately 8 hours to complete.

    We'll let you know when maintenance is nearing completion. Thanks for your understanding!

    I had looked for announcements and this wasn't there when I checked, it was put up less than 30 minutes before I posted.

    Looks like I might actually have to talk to my wife tonight. How do I change the tv to another station again?

    Glad to hear they're upgrading the infrastucture...hope we will have a smoother game experience after the fiasco caused by the maintenance of the first week of september ( random fps drops and random lag spikes everywhere while other mmos are running fine as always)

    wish they could stagger the maintenance so that we could at least go on the pts. Great product but a bit of consistency would be good by the time T.O comes out.
    Zenimax have created an epidemic, like crack in the 80s then told everyone they don't sell on mondays.
