For the people still trying to say that guilds aren't setting the prices see if you can follow this simply diagram
Guilds set prices and every guild checks every guilds prices. Merchant addons keep track of this.
Guild vendors use the guild prices the guilds set in their guilds, again every guild checks every guilds prices.
Someone in chat tries to sell something of theirs for let say 2k, people take the merchant addon and checks the guild price and plasters it in chat now the person who wants to sell it for 2k can only do so if the guild price is around 2k
So again no one can buy/sell/trade anything in chat without guild prices being involved.
When the only rate being used everywhere (Including places that it doesn't belong) then the guilds are price fixing that is exactly what price fixing is.
To continue trying to say the guilds are not responsible for that problem is complete BS. Because the merchant addons are taking what the guilds prices are and then using the guilds prices in chat and no one buys/sells/trades anything anywhere in the game unless it's the guild price. Trying to sue the excuse of it's not the person's fault for using a guild pricing add on in chat is ignorant. Fact is that the guild prices have being crammed into every place in this entire game which wouldn't be able to happen if there was an actual free market.
Indirectly or not, doesn't change the fact that Guilds are price fixing the prices for everything in the game

I'm in two trading guilds, and NO ONE has ever set the price of an item that I listed on the trader but me.
Your theory is FALSE, your information is FALSE, and and the crap that you are spreading is entirely TOXIC.

ok, so the original poster of this tread got the replies he needed, maybe he should first play the game at least some months - not a week, then he will realize how the things are going in this game.
also for some of his issues, he should google a bit first, before making a tread....
no offence and enough respect to the poster, but lets close this tread with some nice memes, maybe he feels upset now. or maybe he should relax more...

It's gotten to the point where I'm going to take a video of what happens in the game and post it to just to show people that everything I explained in this topic does in fact happen whether the people replying see it or not.
I'm sick and tired of the ignorance level of people. The mentality of people is that of "We don't see it, so it doesn't happen" is getting stale
The bottom line here is that these types of prices are absolutely inexcusable in guilds and it's inexcusable for guilds to be saying thing such as that's the going rate. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that a motif is being sold for around this much.
I will make a video of me asking to buy this exact motif in chat for about 1500 gold, and watch what happens.
OK, let's dismantle this utter BS.For the people still trying to say that guilds aren't setting the prices see if you can follow this simply diagram
There's your first lie in this particular post. Guilds don't set any prices. Individual members of guilds set their own prices for their items that they wish to sell. They set their prices based on what they think the market will bear, or based on how quickly they want to sell that item (I almost always price anything I have for sale significantly below what I believe is market price because I'm more interested in getting rid of stuff than in making gold).Guilds set prices
Wow, you couldn't even wait for the next sentence to tell another lie. It's impossible to check the prices in every guild. Impossible. You can only check to see what things have sold for in the guilds you're a member of. That means a maximum of 5 guilds. No addon changes that. This is why people often ask for price checks from more than one person - to see if maybe their guilds are out of sync with the overall free market economy.and every guild checks every guilds prices.
As explained above, they only keep track of items that have actually sold (so they don't track prices things are listed at - only actual sales), and only for the guilds that you're a member of.Merchant addons keep track of this.
Every bit of that sentence is a lie.Guild vendors use the guild prices the guilds set in their guilds, again every guild checks every guilds prices.
That's called the free market economy. People posting MM prices are saying "here's what, on average, people have been willing to pay for the item you're looking to sell, to the best of my knowledge." Anyone interested in buying that item can then decide for themselves if they're willing to pay the price the person in chat is asking, or whether it's a rip-off based on what the other people participating in the free market economy have been willing to pay for that same item.Someone in chat tries to sell something of theirs for let say 2k, people take the merchant addon and checks the guild price and plasters it in chat now the person who wants to sell it for 2k can only do so if the guild price is around 2k
You really seem to be having difficulty understanding that each individual selling an item sets their own price. Their own price that may or may not be in line with the average prices in the market. That's literally the exact opposite of price fixing. You also fundamentally don't understand how the MM addon functions. 2 people in different guilds can use MM to come up with wildly different prices. So again no one can buy/sell/trade anything in chat without guild prices being involved.
When the only rate being used everywhere (Including places that it doesn't belong) then the guilds are price fixing that is exactly what price fixing is.

You wrote "tread" 3 times which keeps me from approving of this.
I a not reading, listening to or accepting what any member has to say about any of this. No one on teh forums is helpful and does nothing but instigate problems by lying about what they reply with so what you all rpely with is of no interest to me any longer
This is specifically for a developer.

thank you for your input.
if i may make a suggestion here?
there are a lot of people on these forums who have played this game for as long as it has existed. if you need help with something you only have to ask and they will offer help.
but saying that people who have replied to your thread are ignorant trolls is not the way to win friends.

It's no use. He is the troll himself. He was caught lying on another of his threads already.
He complained about being unable to find the quests for the DLCs, but when he showed a screencap of his collections tab, the DLC tab had no (!) symbol.
If you didn't accept a quest for a DLC you own yet, or if you abandoned the quest after accepting it, the (!) persists until you accept the quest. So there are two possibilities:
1 - He doesn't own the DLC.
2 - He already accepted the quests, so he did find them.
Either way, his claim can't be true.

I am on console, used to be on PC.
I just have a burning need to say this:
(I'm sure it's been said by others and I realize it probably won't be considered helpful)
The MM add-on pulls info from a log of what people have actually paid when purchasing something. Therefore, it is not the guild setting prices but rather then players actually buying things that set the MM prices.
It is true that the add-on is limited to the guilds a player has joined, and it does not take into account any trades outside of guild stores, but it absolutely represents an estimated price of what players with enough money are willing to pay for something, and it also represents a reasonable price a player can expect to receive when selling something.

I can vouch for what this person said.
Also here is a pic of what it should look like if you DO actually have the DLC and haven't accepted the quests for any of it.
[pic]
If you look to the far right of my pic you can see DLC has popped up and the Icon for it has a ! with a circle around it. That is letting me know that I have Quests available to me in my DLCs.
If you look at his screenshot... well you can clearly see the difference.

Thanks, I would have taken a pic myself but I'm not on my PC right now
