Magicka DPS

Hey all,

I'm having some issues pulling "good" dps with my magicka Templar. I've got 5x TBS 2x julianos swords/ staff/ helm/ shoulders. 3x Willpower jewelry.

I just got a kena 2 piece, and I also have a good Nerienth setup as well. I don't know why my dps seems so low, I think I can pull like 18-20k single target. Is it my lack of proper weaving? Is it a lack of spell power pots?

I've been thinking of swapping characters to a sorc, because I've been getting frustrated with the Templar rotations/dot timings/etc..

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

It's not just you. Many Magicka DPS are finding it difficult to break 30k dps, while Stamina DPS are pulling 50k-60k+ on just about every class.

Easiest thing is make sure you have all your enchant and gear Legendary. Your rotation and animation canceling skill can improve your DPS greatly but you'll have to watch @Alcast videos or ask someone else who posts good info for advice on that. I have yet to play Magplar seriously. Just hang in there man, if all else fails just respec Stam lol.

Elder Stamina Online in full effect. Working as intended.

Er, there are magicka classes pulling near 50k.

To answer your question OP, getting used to a build can help a lot with making it your own. Animation canceling and rotation are things you gotta figure out ivery time. Stick with it and you'll wonder what you ever did before!

It always depends in what kind of situation. On what bosses are you testing dps or where is it that you feel you are pulling low numbers?
What you can do is record a fight, upload it to youtube (unlisted if you want) and then whisper me with the link and I can analyze it and tell you what is wrong and how you can improve.

Thanks Alcast, I appreciate that. I'm a casual player, so when I'm talking about DPS, it's just in the sense of 4 mans / pledges / etc. I haven't gotten into Trials at all.

I don't have a dedicated guild to test DPS on bloodspawn, but I've done that fight a few times throughout pledge rotations, and no matter what I do, I hover around 18-20K. On fights like Kena, or the last boss of ICP, my DPS is abysmally low.

I'm just wondering whether or not that last 150 CP make that much of a difference, along with the lack of spellpower pots. I know that my weaving is off, but it's not terrible (usually just when swapping between bars).

In 4 mans I usually use 5xTBS, and 3x Julianos (Helm/shoulders/swords / staff back bar). As I said, I've got Kena/Nerien'th as well that I can pull from in divines, but I already have sustain issues so I'm assuming the Kena set wouldn't make this any easier.

My gear is full yellow enchant, but most of it is epic quality, I have a few pieces of gold TBS, and am working on upgrading the rest, just wax gets expensive...

    Anyways, thanks!

Well, i am Stamblade and can do 20-23k on single target. My gears are x5 hundings x3 dreugh king x1 kena x1 velidreth x2 leki. all yellow except jewelrys. Played like 1 month

Today i created magicka sorc and made 17k dps single target with overload. Gears x5 Julianos x2 Kena x3 willpower x2 torug sword. All purple. Played like 10 hours for grinding, 1 hour with "right" skill bar.

If someone can do 50k+ dps without maelstrom things, please advice something. I am playing this game and 2 month passed. Still feeling like unexperienced.

No offence intended but only having played for 2 months would class you as inexperienced to most people here.

When I had been playing for only 2 months I didn't have a vet character (level 50 +). It takes time, patience, practice and research to get the best out of a build and after 12 months I still haven't managed it.
