I've noticed a few banned accounts here and there lately. I never really knew of anyone actually banned until I saw someone with the red sign that said Banned on their account when someone mentioned they were banned (they are unbanned now though), but I have seen quite a few newly banned lately. This just goes to show that the mods WILL ban you if you step out of line. How do you avoid stepping out of line? Well here is a few tips:
- Keep your cool in spite of your frustration.
- Don't hate, participate!
- Trolls always get sent back to their lonely bridges...
So remember everyone, civility goes a long way! Not only does it help ensure you can continue to use these forums but it makes for a positive and respectable reputation among the forum community!

sooooooo, now that I've had some comments edited and a thread closed - i finally took the time to read through the "community guidelines"...
I found the tone to be very aggressive, it felt a little like someone had a funnel to my ear pouring crap in...
full disclosure - this is the first "public" forum I've ever participated in (I've lurked at knickerblogger for many years - it's a place for tormented knick fans to console and vent - a lot of analytics though - they're crazier with numbers them some of the folks here)...
so, I can imagine that at times - people can get a little out of control (myself included it would seem
)...to be honest, I've only been here for a minute, I haven't really come across too much stuff I would have thought crossed the line...I guess I'm no expert though...

✭I agree OP, the forum rules are pretty simple to follow, no naming and shaming, no personal attacks, everyone has an opinion and people may not agree with yours or mine, try to respect others point of view, you can debate things and have a good time at it given we stay calm and get our post on.
the forums should be a fun place for ideas and discussion about topics that affect all our game play, and no one should be afraid to ask questions, we were all new to games at one point and I am sure had questions and did not want to be called names when trying to get an answer.
I guess the internet lets some folks bring the nasty out, it is not just game forums, seems like the art of discussions has pretty much been lost over the past few years.

Come now, you're twisting my reason for this thread. My intent here is to point out that those that break the community rules CAN be banned if they do so enough, and the reason is not to "tell people what to do" but to let them know that hateful commenting can lead to getting banned. Better to hear it from a fellow community member than a mod when you get an actual warning for it am I right? Communities look out for one another you know, but whether you choose to heed my words or not is up to you.
Thing is, hateful commenting is indeed both frowned upon and cause for moderation, so this Public Service Announcement is a heads up to that and a call to more positive forum posting. Of course it stands to reason people will try to start stuff here because for whatever pitiful reason they get their kicks out of trolling and being generally toxic.
