Why are all Elf Guards such Jerks?

I genuinely don't know, I don't really see any other Guards other than High Elves and Wood Evles, due to hanging in Grahtwood and Rawl so I can't speak for Bretons and such but AD guards are all just such willies. I've saved their entire land from he threats of Molag Bal as well as doing around 60 million jobs to help the citizens of their land yet all they seem to say to me is stuff like this:
- 'If you were a bit smarter you could be a Half Wit.
- Go on, surprise me, say something intelligent.
- You mess with the Bear you get the claws.
- If I want your opinion I'll give it to you.
- I bet you're all foam and no ale.
- You think I'm getting smart with you? How would you know?
- Come again when you can't stay so long.
- You appear to be relieved of the burden of wit.
- If you're trying to exercise, running at the mouth isn't the best way to do it.

✭✭✭✭✭The Altmer live the longest of the races, so view the folly of the short lived with contempt. Also, they have a rigid hierarchy and social stratification. This results in them putting down others not deem worthy of their station because everyone above them dumps on them. So, the abuse rolls down hill in this class conscious society.
