Remind me again logic of no weap swap until lvl 15?

Ok so as I've mentioned in other thrreads I've posted in, I have returned to the game to give it another go after an absence of about 18 months..
I have subbed so I'm Eso+ I think its called..

I am a bit disappointed to see that weap swapping is still not available until lvl 15 and made slightly annoying by the fact that for the life of me, I cannot fathom the logic..

I rolled a new character last night to try out a Bow/Dual wield NB but the experience was truly ruined because I didn't have two bars to play with in order to start sorting out what goes where, and worst of all, couldn't fight with my two weapon types.. It really did make last night a bit of chore, rather than an exciting bit of theory crafting and prep for later and after 2.5 hours play I'd got to lvl 8 and feel really put off I'll have about the same to go before I feel I can REALLY start getting a feel for my character. I want to be in a position to really consider options at level 5.

ZoS - Why can't we have weap swapping at lvl 5? Doesn't matter that I may have only 1 ability on both action bars, I'm getting practice from the start in switching, and more importantly I'm fighting with the two weapon types i'm interested in from pretty much the get-go.

I'll appreciate any comments......

Mostly you just don't have enough skills to need two bars yet. You are not going to be doing any useful theory crafting at level 5. You're missing too many class defining skills and passives to really understand how your class will play later on.

Thats for me to decide and I indeed do need two bars for the reason below.
Last night all I wanted to do was burst down mobs with my bow, then shadow dash in with my two swords/daggers and slice them up... I couldn't, and that made it quite depressing... I can fill up my two bars as i go along but as it is I'm being restricted.

No, it's called restriction. I feel I could progress in a far more meaningful way with two bars and weap swap pretty much straight away...

Ok point taken, how about having swap straight away on a 2nd character? Game allows me to skip the tutorial, so it would be nice to skip the lvl 15 restrictions while we're at it..

Sure, weapon swap at lvl 1 then what? 1skill on each bar to enhance your eso experience?

No, the ability to fight with my bow and dual wield daggers, that would truly enhance my early levels.. I don't care if I only have 1 ability on each bar, at least they will both be abilities I can use for each weapon set that will allow me to fight like I want to..

    Its called choice and options.

When a player is new to ESO and sees that he can use a 2nd weapon at lvl 15 it gives them something to unlock and look forward to as well as getting them excited when they unlock it. Otherwise known as progression.

To expand upon this I think they should allow people with level 50 characters to start a new character at level 15...just like it allows you to skip the tutorial if you've played before.

Tbh I don't use bar swapping until everything is fully levelled anyway. I can slot one of each thing on one bar and grind them out. At level 15 I don't really have enough unlocked for 2 bars anyway. I don't care if they changed it so it unlocks sooner, but I wouldn't use it anyway

Ok so I think you can understand the design intention because we already mentioned it. So let's take it from a different angle and include your argument for freedom vs helping new players. Let me tell you why you are wrong.

You are in an inexperienced veteran player.

This is not a put down, you've played this before and just came back after 18 months. If you just grind in a DLC zone (soon to be any zone) you can get to 50 in about 6-10 hours depending on the quality of your loop. At that rate you will be out of lvl 15 before you have any time to be annoyed. This is how an experienced veteran would approach your problem.

Your perspective is skewed. You think of this as a delay in your effectiveness yet anyone that is in your situation could rectify it in such short order that they would of found the time posting this topic a larger time sink, than leveling to 15. I would find a DLC spot with lots of mobs and easy terrain to memorize and just kill in a loop. You will not care, other than from a principle standpoint.

While I understand your frustration on this matter because if you start with a bow you have no close range to fall back on. Even if you did have the ability to do that in an early state it is probably best to wait until you have more skill points for it. I believe weapon swap should be lvl 10 when you unlock PVP but that is me personally.

EDIT: because at an early level weapon swap isn't optimal you will be too spread out that way. While when you get to lvl 15 you will have passives and enough skills to start using 2 bars.

You don't need a second bar. That's the logic. Any other questions? Play the game, takes me about 50 minutes to get to 15 from level three.

I figured I would chime in here.

I see a lot of people saying the level 15 is due to progression or to confusing for new players. Both of these answers are made invalid due to any player who chooses to create a s storm focused Sorcerer may have two hot bars far before level 15. Once they have overload there is a second bard, then at level 15 there is a new bar.

By game design some characters can have two bars well before level 15, just not all of them.

It took you 2.5 hours to get to level 8 and you are complaining?
Did you also have an abundance of skill points that you were saving for when you hit 15 and can put them on your second bar?

Having only one weapon makes you focus on that one at the beginning and it will level faster than diluting it. In your case, you should be focusing on bow, since your strategy will be "burst down mobs with my bow, then shadow dash in with my two swords/daggers and slice them up..." most of your kill XP will be earned while on your DW bar, so you really want to give your bow bar a head start here.

You will be glad you did, even if you feel inconvenienced for a couple of hours.

With a full set of training gear at level 3 and I put another set level 10. I craft them to blue. I start with duel wield I unlock thieves guild mages undaunted in auridon then go back of fighters guild in in vulken guard to 8 then run up left coast of auridon dolmens unlocking world bosses and unlocking areas. I do the three delves in the area. I get about five pjisic ambrosia. Once I get steel tornado I go even faster at 15 I get bow to arrow spray then I go even faster. I don't do any quests until much later. Obviously I am a subscriber. I will team up with one person if available and no more than one. It's not required but is faster. Make sure to check all book shelves and cabinets in the guilds. You need to keep moving.

Additionally I level one class ability for the three class skill lines and two weapon skills and use willows path five medium one heavy chest on light belt. I only put points into med armor regen. The remainder I make morukulin. So five willow four morukulin. If you cannot craft morukulin then ashen grip. If I am leveling a toon that is magic I go five light, heavy chest, med legs. Five Seducer four Magnus.
