So Many Server Issues... Why One Tamriel?

There are so many issues with the servers on a weekly basis. Why would you do this One Tamriel thing to compromise these issues even more? Stop running this game into the ground. Sigh.

Honestly, my first thought was that One Tamriel was a business decision to make a dying game feel more vibrant...

Then I heard Matt Firor boast about the 6 million people that have played ESO... Unfortunately, I think many of the 6 million have come and gone, because of the casual nature of the game.

Then I learned that League of Legends claimed in 2014 that they had 67 million 'active' players, and ESO's number looked tiny in comparison... Now, I'm back to my first thought. There were too many dead zones, so they merged the factions to make the game seem more alive. Simultaneously, they're trying to encourage new players to start the game.

On pc I feel like population is as good as it's been in the last couple of years. The lowest position I ever had on the main pvp campaign when starting late was about 600th. Back towards the end of the old thornblade it was possible to finish in the top 50 just by pvping for about 2 hours a day, you'd need more dedication than that to make the top 50 in todays trueflame. Yesterday I jumped into trueflame for the first time this month, I took a look at the leaderboards and I'm position 3000 and something, and that's just AD!

To stay on the vMA sorc weekly leaderboard you need a score of at least 520k, probably more like 530k which is actually where the main sorc leaderboard starts. This doesn't prove a healthy population but it is indicative of it. Zos are finally listening to the wishes of the masses and adding stuff we want which I believe is drawing players back.

This might sound elitist but I think that the population on console will only decline in the future as the game becomes more resource intensive. I used to be able to pvp on my non-gaming laptop at work, tethered to my phone. I can't even comfortably solo pve on my laptop these days. If zos don't want their game to die on console they should address these issues.

Pretty much one tamriel is being done because of the server issues I think. Getting rid of all the copies of faction zones. So basically there will be much more room for other things they want too do. So One tamriel will most likly improve performance.

I don't know what happened but the server performance for the last 10 days on PS4 has made the game largely unplayable, especially in PvP. I can't imagine how making so many changes all at once will help matters. I've been playing and subbed since console release but I'm not re-upping my sub this month and won't until Cyrodill is playable again.
