Is it just me that thinks round 7 of VMA is way harder than the others?

I honestly find it a nightmare. Done VMA 6 times now (only learned how to do it this weekend) and I can go flawless until this round quite easilly (unless I dashboard in the ice round). I get to this round and waste most my lives. I get to the boss round fine then so much bs happens. Just now lost all 15 lives on it.

I'm using a stam sorc so have to dps up close. Either means he's in a spot crowded by spores or he's in my face, so it's hard to see the venom callers. Ether way, I wipe and wipe and wipe. Then can do the last two round flawless now (have done last two times in a row anyway) My best is finishing with 2 lives. Guess where I lost all 13... I'd rather do the last round 10 times over than 7.

Stand back and spam poison arrow. Wait until a minder appears and kill the farthest one away. Generally you'll get a minder right on the boss and you burn it whilst under a shield. Tbh on my stamblade I can't be arsed with dodging poison so just spam snipe and lethal arrow them all to death on that around.

This is the most RNG intensive round/boss fight of the lot. Most of the RNG can be mitigated by the positioning and paying attention to the summoner that spawns. Once you see her portal, you need to move away from all the spores and kill her ASAP.

The other trick is that when the bosses adds spawn, you need to quickly figure out which one will be safe to stand by and kill the other one. If a spore explodes under the shield, you are dead.

On my stam sorc, I try to just get this fight over as fast as possible. I nuke the boss and just burn him until the adds spawn. Be sure to block his heavy attacks. I then quickly decide which add to kill and get to the other one. Make sure you arent using hurricane at that point because it will kill the add that is protecting you. If the boss is in melee range, I burn him. If not, I just heavy attack weave poison injection from my bow until he stops screaming. Then I just nuke him. I usually dont see a second set of adds.

This stage is 90% RNG, 5% timing, 4% skill, and 1% mechanics understanding. A horrible ratio for the player to deal with, in my opinion.

However, to combat this — I highly recommend going for ranged damage for the most part. You'll have a much easier and smoother time, than say close-quarters combat. But, I suppose whatever works for you is what works. Best of wishes regardless.

It does seem rng where the spores spawn.

I only cast hurricane once before the adds then twice after the adds. Usually halfway through his scream so the add is half dead. Also swap caltrops for snipe for the shielding phase.

Problem with poison injection weaving... Is that I use Venom arrow lol. The interrupt is amazing for round 8 and 9.

Also, why is round 8 so high up? It's in the bottom three for difficulty. Makes no sense.

You are overstating it. Also, I think some people struggle with RNG because they dont understand the mechanics. No they are not rocket science, but if you pay attention to the summoner and spawn kill it, the poison should not be an issue anywhere but the boss. The only actual RNG so to speak is when you get a poison under the shield, but again, that can usually be avoided by being careful about which add you chose to kill.

I do agree that this place favors range. The biggest issue I have is when you have an archer standing right on top of a spore, and I need to interupt him. Sometimes, it gets me.

that round is almost rng depended, so dont go hard on yourself when you wipe.

In all seriousness I don't think it's much harder than any other stage. It just requires more situational awareness than other stages. Stage 9 is imo much harder than 7

I find it one of the easiest unless you have really *** luck. frankly stage 6 and 8 give me the most trouble cus of my low CP and gear.
But really those mushrooms are the entire fight, keeping an eye on them is priority #1. If ever possible try to fight at a place when they aren't grouped up, archers range isn't infinite and you can usually get them to move if you run away a bit. If you absolutely have to fight an archer next to a mushroom stay at max melee range and keep moving, even if it's just quickly back and forth. It's a lot easier to get out of the aoe if you're already in motion i find.
If an archer is firing his 1 hitter and you can't interupt him, just dodge it.

I thought stage 7 was pretty easy compared to what I was expecting. I do think it's the most infuriating though. Spores absolutely should be nullified by the shield, and I feel bad for the many people that have lost flawless runs due to it.

Strange how different stages are harder for different people. It might be class dependant I guess.

Round 8 is probably the second easiest for me. I only find round 1 easier to be honest. Round 9 is pretty easy too. Round 7, 6, 5 are all harder imo. 3 as well due to my colour-blindness. Can't really see the aoes, so got to keep on my toes.

Not that strange, people are just good at different things. I'm also stam sorc but stage 5 and 8 are where low cp and gear make the most diffirance imo, dealing with the ranged adds is vital on stage 5 and adds/mechanics on stage 8 can be completely avoided if your damage is good enough. On my worst run of stage 8 boss i had to destroy the stones 4 times before i actually killed her.

But the stages that took me the longest to get passed are the easiest for me now(7 and 9). I spent so long failing, by the time i actually cleared them I'd made every mistake in the book and then some .

Yeh, the ranged on round 5 are a pain. Only slightly problematic thing about 8 is the flamespinner things, but I run Venom arrow so are literally not a problem at all
