I'm converting my stam dk to help with trials. Currently the only "tanking" gear i have is bahrahas(probably butchered that) and the leeching set.
Would that be good for normal trials?
Any help is appreciated.
If it helps i'm and imperial with 531 cp
I guess the question is relative to the way you play your tank and how you built it:
More damage mitigation from equipment (ex: Armor Master + Engine Guardian) or more resource management by spamming ultimate and block/dodge a lot (Tava's Favor and Bloodspawn + Shuffle). Also the way you distributed your Champion points accordingly and your enchantments will be different. With Tava's Favor I have less physical and spell resistance than with Armor Master or Pariah Set, so I had to invest a lot of champion points in Heavy Armor Focus (rather than hardy) and enchanted my jewelry with spell resistance glyphs.
I tanked Sanctum and the Archives with my Stam DK and I had Tavas Favor, Engine Guardian on Sanctum and Bloodspawn on Archive (especially useful for the last boss with the axes), 2 piece seducer for the magicka regen and agility jewelry. I didn't have any problems even when the healers were down.
I now have a few pieces of the Immortal Yokeda set (jewelry and armor) that will replace the agility and seducer set pieces, but I guess i would need to try the veteran trials to see a noticeable difference. The sets from the Maw of Lorkhaj such as Lunar Bastion and Roar of Alkosh also look great but I dont have the full sets yet...
What are your resistances at?
I would like to try tavas out but im not sure if my resistances would be good enough if everything is just upgraded to purple.
On the other hand a guildmate keeps telling me to use hist bark but what would go with that?
Engine Guardian (you're a DK, resources are not an issue at max CP)
Hist bark (main tank - usually when tackling content the first time and you don't want to take risks, but not the best option)
Werewolf hide (main tank or offtank using Guard on main tank, altho I'd personally recommend Akaviri instead)
Footman (proven to provide much less mitigation than the tooltip says since it's multiplicative)
<any 3p Minor Aegis> (same as above)
I personally find Leeching and Bahraha (?) to not help as much as other sets, be it sustain or tankiness wise.

2x bloodspawn and 5 Tava's should be your core. Keep shuffle up, heroic slash even 9 seconds and keep spamming igneous shield. Infused bit bits, sturdy small. Cp wise, self for magica reduction and magica regen mostly, a bit into stam reduction.
The other 5 piece is what you think you lack. Regen, max resources, resistances or utility.
Personally, I got three mazzatun and two agility for the max stats. You don't need max resistances for normal trials. Nor any other content. Not done vet trials, so not sure about then. Tank often runs even then I think to boost everyone's health.

I just wanted to add to this a little bit, but I'm not disagreeing with you. Generally speaking, Bahraha's Curse makes a stronger case than Leeching does, but the verdict is the same.
I main a NB tank and have done extensive testing and building around Bahraha's Curse. With the experience I have with this set, I'd suggest it primarily for dungeons and non-vet trials. I have several DK tanks in my guild, all of which are capable of the most challenging trials, and they've used BC in veteran trials to much success. But is it BiS? No, I don't think so. The answer to this question is debatable, of course, but far more so for a NB tank rather than a DK.
When it comes to veteran hardmodes, BC is not generally a useful set, even though it can (and has) proven extremely effective in virtually every other encounter. These fights are the epitome of a "true" tank, or perhaps a better choice of words is a "traditional" tank - one that is virtually an indomitable wall. The self-healing from BC isn't enough to make up for the heavy-hitters, like the Warrior or the Mage's axes (for further insight, I have 85% overall mitigation in my build and BC still isn't enough healing, even when I build for it). Even for a NB tank, the better option here is usually a marginal increase to mitigation and a hefty boost to max health, above and beyond what is used for less challenging content (also for further insight, I'd suggest 30k+ for hardmodes, whereas 25k can cut it in everything else).
