I've heard some stories in the past of a similar occurrence a while back (probably a year or so) where someone was saying he got banned for "botting", but it ended up that he and his wife was playing ESO.

So, from the looks of it, it seems ZOS is banning people when they are playing the game on the same network with a single router IP communicating with the megaservers with more than one instance of ESO running behind said router.

Basically it seems like having more than one account running on the same network, gets both accounts banned (likely falsely identified as botting).

Obviously this might not be the case, but it sure as hell seems this way from past similar posts I've read.
I've been wanting to get my wife to play this game too, but I'm too paranoid getting falsely banned, hence me not taking this step.

Can any actual community manager give us some insights on this?
...because it appears to be a thing.

I would think this was more a Population Lock issue than anything else being that you are trying to get back into Cyrodiil. It may not have been that the pop was actually locked, but a glitch surrounding this mechanism. I have been kicked numerous times from the game, and other than having to do the Log In Triple Step (3 log in attempts to get back in) I have never had an issue getting back in. I rarely step foot in that zone though.

Note, this is why you should avoid logging out while in Cyrodiil, so you can at least get back to your character faster.

What happened is we were in cyrodiil and game booted us (and almost everyone that was in the group (dozens got kicked)

I logged back in to another character (was done with pvp at that point) and got back in. She couldn't get past the log in screen (character screen wouldn't even load)

A few times out of dozens of tries it would go to the character screen, and then error out no matter which character she chose.

Its probably a pop-lock for an instance/phase then likely.
Probably the same as porting to Mournhold in prime-time, got me kicked a few times and unable to log back in for quite some time.
