As a primary tank I am trying to better my Stam DPS off-spec, which Im building around 2H and bow. Ive been practicing the weaving of heavy attack and Wreaking blow, but Im wondering if the that is the best DPS rotation - simply weaving heavy attack and WB, while making sure buffs/dots/debuffs are kept active?

Right now my rotation (solo) would be Rally + molten armaments + igneous shield --> engage --> noxious breath --> venomous claw --> heavy attack and wreaking blow weaving.

Is the above ideal, or should I add/remove something from the equation?

2H is not ideal for DPS. It does not provide any DoTs, and most abilities are not very useful. ALso Wrecking Blow makes attack weaving difficult.

For DD I would recommend going DW and Bow. More weapon damage, access to Rending Slashes for a strong DoT, Rapid Strikes as an easily spammable attack that can be weaved with Light Attacks, Steel Tornado for AoE situations, and an extra equipment slot for more set otpions.

Currently best in slot gear appears to be 5 vicious Ophidian, 5 Twice Born (Thief and Shadow mundus) or 5 Night Mothers Gaze (Thief mundus) all divines gear, and Maelstrom DW/Bow.

If you do not have access to these things you can go three agility, 5 TBS or NMG, 1 kena, 1 velidreth or bloodspawn, with Leki's Daggers and bow.

With DW you will do significantly more dps.

You want to level your Fighters guild in order to get rearming trap and Flawless dawnbreaker.

Front Bar: DW
Flames of Oblivion (10% Crit)
Steel Tornado (trash pulls) /Rearming Trap (Boss)
Rapid Strikes
Rending Slash
Venomous Claw
Ulti: Flawless DB

Back Bar: Bow
Vigor
Rearming Trap (Trash) /Caltrops (Boss)
Poison Injection
Endless Hail
Igneous Weapons
Ulti: Standard of Might

Rotation: On a boss fight entering combat
Igneous> Flames of Oblivions> Caltrops> Endless Hail
then get on DW bar and LA (Light attack)>Rapid Strikes>Venomous Claw>LA>Rapid Strikes> Rending Slash >LA> Rapid Strikes> Rearming Trap>(Bar Swap) Endless Hail> Poison Injection> Standard of Might (if Ulti is ready). Rinse and repeat.

Reapply Flames of Oblivion every 2nd cycles through the rotation.

Reapply Igneous Weapons every 3 or 4 (or run Weapon power pots) depending on how fast your a getting through it.

When executed correctly the rotation is around 10 seconds which allows your dots to run for their full duration before reapplying.

This will get you started, but can be further optimized if you have a good healer allowing you to drop vigor, or if you are running weapon power pots.

I was going to make a smartass comment about going DW, but you beat me to it.

Things might change next patch depending on how OP the 2H ulti is when its released, but right now, the DPS between 2H and DW is not even close.

2H ultimate is OP in PvP and shi*t in PvE.
