Mannimarco is a powerful lich and therefor deemed immortal. He cannot die in the way of mortals.

they last till at least oblivion right? (oblivion mages guild anyone)

that said one of molag bals comments after destroying an anchor is something to the effect of "if you but bend a knee I will give you an army and make you my right hand"

I honestly would have taken that option!
    ESO player since beta.
    game got too disappointing.

    Necromancer class needs to happen.

There is far, far too much necromancy in TES lore to not have it in game like that.

    S'not gonna happen folks.

It's been requested, over, and over, and over, and it will never happen. Makes no sense storywise.

I said "mostly". Mannimarco's defeat at the hands of the Vestige was a serious blow to their ranks. They did not COMPLETELY disband but they DID become less threatening, at least for awhile.

They operate in semi-isolated cells. Sure they were less threatening, but that is a far cry from saying they mostly disbanded. The members didn't suddenly stop necromancy and go home. The practice of Necromancy and the Worm Cult was still strong, just lacking a central mission after the planemeld fails. Still a legitimate orginization and will influence the mages guild and world events for years to come. Nowhere near "mostly" disbanded.

I may have overexaggerated a bit, yes, but then again I never played any TES game before Skyrim so all I know for certain is what ESO has provided lol and considering I've only seen them at the Unfinished Dolmen in Wrothgar as far as DLCs go it's a reasonable guesstimate.

Mannimacro, basically is a vestige not a lich. Hes more like a pargon soul shriven only with a soul. This is kinda confirmed when he resurrects himself at the point of his death in game. But as he was resurecting Molag Bal took him. At some point he will escape coldharbour. Either by your hands or on his own. This means he can't really die and most might think of him as a lich. But he truly is not and just found a way to become immortal. This means its possible he will return after the events of oblivion and another method might be needed to defeat him. Its possible he has been killed a couple more times before the events of oblivion. So I imagine at some point in a future elder scrolls game he will become a threat again.

I don't know that the DLCs are really chronological. I mean, you can do them before ever dealing with the planemeld. I don't know if we can assume that they aren't in three of the DLCs because of having already stopped the planemeld. I mean the Imperial City is still crawling with Worm Cultist even though it was added as a DLC even though it was probably meant to be in the game from the very begining.

Chronologically, the events in Orsinium are one year after the start of the vestige's adventure. 2E 582 are when the events of the base game and the Imperial City expansion take place, 2E 583 is when the events of Orsinium take place. The events of the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood take place at an unknown time.

didn't mannimarco find a way to ascend to immortality in daggerfall?

when molag tortures him he escapes and goes missing for many years. many many. to the point where people think when they see a mannimarco it's a copycat.
PLEASE REPLY TO ME WITH @dsalter otherwise i'm likely to miss the reply if its not my own thread

The Mannimarco in Oblivion is the same Mannimarco in games prior to Oblivion's release and in ESO.

Joining the Worm Cult makes no sense from a storyline perspective. Remember, your character as told by the games was SACRIFICED to Molag Bal by the worm cult, your soul being given to him and rendering whatever's left of you as a soul shriven. The whole point of the main story is to get your soul back from Molag Bal, there is absolutely no reason to turn around and join up with the guy who you were sacrificed in the name of, almost surely against your will, much less work alongside the same people that killed you once already.
