Questions about slotting actives on the hotbar

I know that slotting a skill line's active on the hotbar contributes to leveling progress for that skill line. If you slot multiple actives from the same skill line, will that progress stack, or not? What about having an active slotted, and also "actively" using that skill, such as the weapon lines. Will they each independently progress the skill line, allowing for stacking of progress? These are two separate instances, since you can have the active slotted and not use it or the weapon, and you can also use the weapon without having an active slotted.

Here's a more obscure one for the classes lines, a bit different from the weapons lines. You must have an active slotted in order to be able to use it. So, do you get progress for having the active slotted and not using it, and then additional progress as well, for actually using the active? That sounds a bit like double-dipping, and I'd expect the answer to be no, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

These questions will help me to manage my slots a bit better for leveling the skill lines.

Thanks in advance...

Frank

Using an ability does nothing. Experience is given to each of the skills on your hotbar. If you have three siphoning skills on your bar, for example, siphoning will level 3x as fast. Even if you're not using the weapon you can still get exp from slotting weapon abilities. Using a weapon itself will level the skill line(dual wielding without any abilities will advance DW).

    Agree

    and @fgoron2000 ,
The weapon slotted and the Ultimate slotted stack as well.
    Also:
A good way to control the development of the skill lines better, possible once you are level 15, is to put abilities of your skill lines to level on your second bar, and collect quest bonusses while swapped to your second bar.

thanks very much Acsvf and Hrothbern.

Also, about the collecting quest bonuses, do you mean that when ready to collect on a quest, to make sure to have abilities slotted on the active hotbar, for any skills about to roll to the next level, so as to maximize that progress?

    Yes :)
