Speaking of, I just did the same thing as the OP today, but with the express purpose of 1v1 fun when dueling goes live.Stoopid_Nwah wrote: »^ I assumed op meant for pve only...otherwise I definitely would have made many more suggestions lol.

The difference is that I wanted to do this as melee, but I'm REALLY feeling the Stam meta right now. For context, here's my bar setup:
Front: Impale, Dark Cloak, Lotus Fan, Concealed Weapon, Crippling Grasp (Soul Harvest)
Back: Degeneration, Flex Spot*, Healing Ward, Mirage, Mass Hysteria (Soul Tether)
However, I'm having MAJOR issues balancing damage and resources. I'm running an Altmer and even with those advantages, I'm finding this build just EATS Magicka (even with tons of CP in cost reduction and regen). I know part of the issue is that I REALLY want to run the Fasalla's Guile set, but is there another set I need to be shooting for to supplement this?
Or is running a melee MagBlade in the current meta a study in futility? My main reason for making my dueling toon Magicka instead of a StamGanker is that I'm thinking any duelist worth his/her salt is NEVER going to let you open with a stealthed Surprise Attack. So, I figured focusing on DoTs, self-heals, and heal debuffing the other guy would be the way to go. Until I hit this statistic-balancing wall.
Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice you guys can give!

Thanks for the advice! The Atronach stone is helping, and I just dropped my Shadow Dancer set in favor of a 5-piece Seducer.Run either siphoning attacks or magicka harness (or maybe the other morph if you're in light armor)
use atro mundus stone for recovery, also look into 5 worm cult (jewelry needed)
If you really want to stick with melee and fasallas, I would definitely say run the atronach mundus. A lot of magicka characters are running seducers lately due to the issues with resource management.milesrodneymcneely2_ESO wrote: »Thanks for the advice! It seems that cost reduction is making more of a difference than straight regen, in spite of my Altmer passives. Gonna do some more tweaking. Thank you again!
The third round is where most start to feel a bit of the pain of maelstrom lol don't worry we have all been there. Practice, watch videos, slot harness if you haven't already (until you get used to the fights), run rapid regen if you need to, slot agony if you want so you can just keep whatever troubles you the most disoriented (I recommend disorienting the lamia dominae ones), use sigils wisely, etc. Is there a specific boss you're struggling with on that stage?kylewwefan wrote: »Thanks for the replies. I am talking about PvE and maelstrom. The setup ran quite well through dungeons.....I still have much to learn about maelstrom. Stuck in the third round. Even with this setup I can't surviveit did do quite well during the daily' s though.
What is it with maelstrom that it's not like anything else in the freaking game?
What I would suggest is to just agony the most troubling add, keep harness up if you can and either A: Run to the additional mobs to kill them, kiting the wamasu or B: Bring everything to one island and put down your aoes (Path and Elemental Blockade) then do a sap essence to finish anything off and start your boss rotation on the wamasu. His attacks are quite predictable, just stay to his side to avoid the conal attacks. He is quite slow so keeping cripple on him will give you the speed you need, and his health is pretty low so it shouldn't take too long to burn him down.kylewwefan wrote: »Round one when the first wamasu comes out I seem to get just overrun with adds.

I wish I had done this some time ago, took the gear off my templar, and it seems NASTY on niteblade. I put 100 in elemental, 77 in erosion. Thinking maybe I should put some in Thurman?

Why the points into elemental for a MAGBALDE? Is this because of the destro staff stuff? I thought straight penetration was better?
Because it includes Magic damage.QuebraRegra wrote: »Why the points into elemental for a MAGBALDE? Is this because of the destro staff stuff? I thought straight penetration was better?
I will be honest and say I do not know the "absolute best min-max magnb dps cp set-up" but I do know that I am enjoying running 100 elemental and the rest in elfborn.kylewwefan wrote: »QuebraRegra wrote: »kylewwefan wrote: »Wearing, 5 Julianos, 3 Willpower, 2 Skoria, V14 Master Inferno Sharp.

I have no idea where things should go. That's why I askedI thought the elemental expert also includes magic damage. Idk I was thinking about putting a few into staff expert also.
Lol been there, done thatYea I'm thinking about running a cyrodiil gank build in ....
wait for it....
light armor.
This is a shock to most of you that know I run heavy, but for those few times when I just really want to gank ie.. kill quickly & gtfo I'm definitely gonna run that new light armor set that gives spell pen!
(note: this is not an "open world" build, just a gank type thing)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_ZhCFb1SNk Yeah that lamia boss can be a real pain at first, especially with the adds. I remember my first time through feeling awesome then getting to her and swearing at everything lol. Especially the stranglers when they used to pull instead of snare.kylewwefan wrote: »So I changed up CP a little
Blue Tree
10 Spell Erosion
10 Elfborn
100 Elemental Expert
47 Staff Expert
10 Thaumaturge
My staff attacks are hitting for like 18k now. Except on the 3rd level Lamia Queen. She seems to have quite a bit of resistance.
Oh lol I didn't know if you switched to wearing elegance/a lightning staff or something along those lines. If you're running the shadow or thief though, then I really would suggest moving them to elfborn.kylewwefan wrote: »No idea. It looked good, better use because I start with reapers mark so I figured the penetration was already pretty good.
Rotation....uhm well I'm kind of all over the place there.
Resto healing ward, rapid regen, siphon strikes , Swallow soul, sap essence
swap
Destro killers Blade, elemental blockade, flame reach, Reapers mark, merciless resolve,
