Being a Werewolf: Where does it stand now?

Hey all!

So I've been reading a lot into werewolves and vampires and reading what people had to say about the two, (and overall) which one people thought was better.
Now, I know there have been posts in the past comparing the two, but I've really only been able to find pretty old posts regarding werewolves viability in game in both pvp/pve.

I'm quite new to the game, so I'm wondering if how good/bad werewolves are have shifted from those posts I've read, dating back in 2014.
Feel free to go indepth.

Thanks all in advance.

I made this video the other night with a few friends. This is in my Pelinel's hybrid WW build, on my Breton stam sorc. I did not develop the build, I only adapted it to suit a sorc. My source for the build is here. I would disclose up-front that I'm clearly not the best player; I got hit by a couple of meteors and button-mashed a little bit... :p In my defense, though, I've clocked fewer than 20 hours total in this build.

I had a couple of unusual framerate issues (in previous recordings I've had no issues), and I apologize for the poor quality. I decided to keep the video anyway because it still showcased a couple of good fights. It should be apparent that this wasn't the start of my night; I did a fair bit of pvping out here with these guys before this clip, and I have other clips of earlier parts of the night. Probably worth noting here, though, is that I finished the night with 74 kills and 0 deaths (see in the top right corner of the video at the end). Those K/D stats reflect about an hour's worth of pvp, give or take. The whole city was red when we started, and by the end of this clip, everything was blue. There were some other DC players running around too; can't forget to give credit where credit due.

To sum it up, WW is a lot of fun, and when done right, can be quite formidable. This build is geared to be resilient above all else, so pretty tanky, and relies on the WW passives and buffs/skills/morphs rather than building straight for weapon damage. It assumes, generally, that I'll have respectable offensive stats because of WW inherently, and thus affords me the luxury of building defensively. It's fair to say it's a bit more complex than that, but generally speaking, this is a defensive harass build.

Werewolves are in a really good place now. The biggest limitation is on build, as WW skills cost a *huge* amount of Stamina. To make WW really effective you'll need a lot of CP into stamina cost reduction, good regen, 5 piece Vicious Ophidian if you have it (8% skill cost reduction). But it can drop massive damage, take a beating and is even competitive in PVP (despite the excessive amount of poison).

because viable and BiS are not the same thing.. Viable maybe 5% behind BiS but to the min maxers it means its worthless..

    5 Issues

1: Devour is still annoying, doesn't work if corpse despawns. Takes too long.

2: Pack leader pet bug: if you die in werewolf form you loose the pets after rez or release (dropping form and transforming again solves bug)

3: Pursuit passive breaks after death, must zone or relog to fix issue.

    4: really easy to macroslice

    5: Cannot activate ally synergies
