The majority of multiple effect potions using materials from the dlcs lose their additional effects on crafting. 3 effects displayed in the menu, craft it and lo and behold a worthless single effect potion.

Snakeblood still does nothing, experiencing full negative effects from potions.

playing on xbox.

A.) Snakeblood has never had any functionality since release.
B.) Can you give an example of the 3 ingredients you are combining?

There are no special materials that are only available in the DLCs. All alchemy materials, including solvents and actual plants & animal parts are currently found all over the world. So I don't understand the point of this post. Of course snake blood is useless/broken, but medicinal use it's one of the best passives. So the issue is clearly not with the whole skill, just one passive of that skill. Even if it worked ATM there is little incentive to craft potions with negative effects. IMO they should scrap the whole passive and replace it with something else, for example a passive that increases your poison resistance by 5/10%. It will better fit the name.

I'm confused - I use 3 ingredient potions all the time, and have never had this issue.

What potions are you trying to make and with what ingredients?

I agree that snakeblood is USELESS, but I can't remember the last time I created a potion with a negative effect.

i wonder if the OP may be referring to "potions of health" where the crafted tri-pot has the same name and look in inventory as the dropped one feature?

    or we are being trolled.

Snakeblood only reduces negative effects that have a duration. Any "instant" negative effects still happen because there is no "duration" to reduce (which is what snakeblood does, reduces the DURATION of negative effects)

[EDIT] As others said though, it's pretty much useless. Don't waste skill points in it.

Wow I can't believe I need to be clearer. Ok so reagents added with the dark brotherhood aren't working. Mudcrab chitin + beetle scuttle + nightshade should give a pot that does armor, protection and vitality, but it only makes armor pots.
Same thing happens for almost every dlc added recipe.

As for snake blood, if a pot has ravage health 45 seconds and thats reduced 100% why am I still taking dmg a sec for 45 sec?

As for snake blood it is iirc a known bug I THINK and is in patch notes for pts now or maybe the most recent patch?

But i am not sure it was ever going to apply to any initial hit from a negative effect just the ongoing effects.

Be sure you're checking for negative matches that remove the corresponding positive effect as well. Most multi-matches among the new ingredients also cancelled each other out due to these.

As for your specific mention: I only see Beetle Scuttle granting Vitality from your mentioned trio, you need a pair with the trait to get the effect. While, Mudcrab Chitin & Nightshade both grant the opposite effect: Defile, in this case Defile would be cancelled out by the presence of a vitality quality on Beetle Scuttle.

Not sure what's happening with the Armor quality. (I see in the video that your created potion actually has protection, not armor) as Beetle Scuttle + Mudcrab Chitin should boost armor, but I don't see any armor reduction effect among the trio of ingredients to cancel that one out.

i noticed on some of the ingredients you were using didnt have all traits unlocked,

some of the traits cancel one another out

my guess would be that the missing effects (you have yet to unlock) have 'opposite' traits to the effects you are trying to create

servers are down so i cant check,

Also, there is a very pretty chart mentioned in a previous link, but one reason I still use my chart is it's easier to check for cancelling effects when the opposite effects are in the same column. So I'll provide a link to it for if it might help you.

Ah that makes sense kinda, so even if there isnt matching negative traits it cancels them out?. Still a garbage system that makes useful pots almost impossible to craft. Basically just using vitality since 50 seconds of 30% increased healing is by far the most potent effect. Definitely made my choice between blood spawn and scourge harvester easy.

The alchemy system could be better, to be sure. I'd like to make potions with any 3 effects, like immovably, restore magicka, and restore stamina. Or maybe speed, magicka and immovability. I do understand why we can't combine immovability, protection and vitality though. One sip of that potion would give you AIDS, cancer and radiation poisoning. And if a Malu-Cheeseplar drank it... There'd be nothing left to compensate for. It's for all our safety that it doesn't exist.

Poisons should be adjusted so that the restore effects aren't wholly better than the negative traits. If I'm getting healed by a poison, it better be doing less damage than the one made with a negative trait for goodness' sake.
The generally amicable yet sporadically salty magplar that may or may not have 1vXed you in Sotha Sil. Who knows?

That makes more sense then. I pretty much use the tri-pots of healing magicka stamina, so my alchemy knowledge is limited to what stuff cancels out what other stuff.

I'd pay much more attention to it if I did PvP or dungeon grinding seriously.

This table might help you out

    alchemy%20table%20ESO_zpsyutna3sh.jpg

    1. If you have a positive & negative property of the same type they cancel each other out (eg Vitality & Defile)
    2. Having 3 positives of the same type does not increase the effect (eg 3 restore health is not better than 2 restore health).

    Some useful potions are;

    Tri-pot : Bugloss + Mountain Flower + Columbine = Health +Stamina + Magika
Spell power: Cornflower + Ladys Smock + (Water Hyacinth or Namiras Rot) = Spell Power + Spel Crit +Magika
Melee power: Blessed Thistle + Dragonthorn + (Water Hyacinth or Wormword) = Weapon damage + Weapon Crit + Stamina
Free Movement Columbine + Namiras Rot + Blessed Thistle = Increased Speed + Unstoppable +Stamina
Vitality Butterfly Wing + BeetleScuttle + MountainFlower = Vitality + Health + Increase Armor

    .
