Crafting Toons: Are they frowned upon?

My main has maxed all crafts, and I have 5 alts that each do 1 craft, my main being my only Alchemist. I have no regrets on this path I have taken nor do I feel it was a mistake. In fact, my alts (as the main crafter of said craft) are the first to get the Recipes/Motifs.

reply to OP post and only OP's post, don't trash me for not bothering reading the rest, don't have patience to :p

I have a 'crafter' hes also my main. He also has enough points for a VMA build, a basic PVE build, a trails build, and a pvp build. each may share maybe ONE or two skills. He also has plenty of 'other' skills im just 'leveling' (IE blood alter, etc, other junk skills im just leveling 'beacause' and I have 27 skill points sitting around.

I also haven't gained all the SP for pvp, nor dark brotherhood story. Or some of the others.

ONE character can EASILY do it all in this game. Having alts is just so you can try 'other classes' or alliances. DOn't let anyone tell you your 'LIMITED' in what one can do, there are so many skillpoints in the game you can easily have ALL the crafting skills maxed out(minus snakes blood which is pointless) all your passives(As in ALL OF THEM even ones u won't ever use) and most (if not all) the class line skills with a good handful left over for 'other' skills (IE ledger man, soul, thieves guild, brotherhood, etc all maxed)

So don't stress it, just go out and get more skillpoints.

Personally, I leveled a character just enough to invest the skill points into provisioning, alchemy, and enchanting. This character will never need to do anything else than make food, drinks, potions, and glyphs. All I had to do was make it through a couple main story quests, main faction quest in Glenumbra, and start down the Dark Brotherhood path. So, I'm happy there.

It's that other stuff and I do feel punished for not "maxing" skill points before starting crafting. That doesn't mean I'm not listening to you. It's just how I feel.

I really do appreciate all of the input. Oh, and it's a CP165 STAM DK (based on a Deltia leveling guide). I just never finished Coldharbour. lol

My crafter is my Magicka Sorc. He was designed from the beginning as THE crafter for all my other toons. I don't put any points into most stamina skills, so by the time I found all but around 35 skyshards in the game and had completed almost every single quest in the game, I had enough skill points to max out everything crafting related including all passives and have plenty to max all class and Magicka skills. I think it would be far more difficult on a Stamina character.

My main crafts, and does everything else. With over 300 skillpoints in the game it is not hard to make an end game DPS also a crafter.

Crafting toons are not really frowned on but there is advantages of having fully leveled characters also leveled in crafting.

Heck, many active players have most crafting leveled in most characters since writs can bring in good cash and upgrade matts. Just off of writs I haul in 100k gold a week plus a tone of gold upgrade matts worth a pretty penny. This also goes a long way to keeping me in matts for potions and such.

Obviously the Devs did not intend for low level characters being able to craft everything but they really have done little to nothing to stop the practice.
