ZOS, why did we have to wait so long for a patch so small to fix something as important as Minor Aegis and Minor Slayer? Plus the other things it fixed. I mean... Bruh... Come on now. I thank you sincerely for it, but bruh... 485MB's though...? It couldn't have been fixed via hot-fix or something?

    The Xbox update was 3.96 GB I wonder why the PS4 update is so small.

    Because the XBox One update mechanism (regardless of the game) always produces such insanely large patch sizes.

    They have to download the patch several times on XBox to make sure it downloads correctly :smile:


    (Edit due to not being obvious.... ZOS does not always tell us everything they change in the patch notes. My guess is that some change to artwork or sound got included in the XBox patch that was not in the PS4 patch. Maybe it was already included for PS4 or maybe it is coming up.)

    Why do you all care so much about patch size ? I mean, if it was 40Mb vs. 40Gb, I would understand, but 10 minutes more or less... ??? Mr. Bruh... ?

    Actually mine was 16GB. No word of a lie. Happened last time there was a hotfix, too: a massive download for what (some) had as a tiny patch.

    I thought I answered it in the initial post, but certainly. I care about the patch size, because it should be all relative with what was fixed/patched. From reading the PS4 Patch 1.17 notes, a lot of what I see should've been able to have been fixed via hot-fix (e.g. Minor Aegis and Minor Slayer). Make sense?

    Probably new versions of DLLs to fix whatever problem. When I saw the 4GB size, I just assumed they bundled some 1T art assets with it to cut down on the 1T patch size.

    I wouldn't necessarily call half a gig a hotfix lol and also keep in mind they have Microsoft/Sony to deal with.

    So I'm super confused then... Some people are saying 1/2 a gig, some are saying 3 or 4 gigs... My update is frickin 16.8 gb!!! Why the hell the variation on size of the download between different people? I'm on PS4 and several others who commented above with smaller patch sizes were on PS4 as well. I don't get it...but I do get that my download time says HOURS and I have the fastest internet connection available in the area (gigafiber). This is ridiculous

    Wow! The ~500mb update took hours to download and I still can't play. I hit the main menue screen to play, it loads for 5-7 min amd tells me login failed. All these new updates look great, if only eso was playable.

    Oh well, new southpark tonight at least.

    Plus a lot of these big patches replace current content in game with new patched content, so you arent technically adding to the game, you are just replacing current stuff.

    This patch is 450 MB, but all of the patches, up to an including this one, are considerably larger. The PS4 is supposed to only download the patches it needs, so most people will get a 450 MB patch this time. If the PS4 'forgets' what patch it installed last time, it will download them all. Whether that is 80 GB, I have no idea. Mine downloaded 450 MB.

    By the way, my last update was "shadows of the hist"
    I dont know why the patch is that big
    yesterday there where an update of the psn-software too
    i will cancle and try again... maybe this will help...
