[PvE] Can we have Two Handers to count as 2 item pieces already?

⇒THIS THREAD HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PVP⇐

It takes up two slots, main hand and off hand, and it'll allow more diversity for us magic characters.

Take for example, my magic DK. I would gear it to wear 5 Twice-Born Star, 5 Silks of the Sun, and 2 Skoria.

However, this doesn't work because a Silks of the Sun inferno staff does not count as 2 pieces.

If only this would work!

    No. This is a part of theorycrafting and it adds a tiny bit of diversity to both Magicka and Stamina. Only Dual Wield + One Hand and shield are giving two item-pieces. Both of them are also quite useful for certain Magicka specs. Dual wield gives a nice damageboost if you don't need the weave with a destruction staff. One hand and shield makes you beefy/beefier(?).

    Inferno Staff, Resto Staff, Bow, 2H. Takes up two slots. Which is good. Adds at least a tiny restriction on how 1-shot-mechanic stamina builds can spec :)!

    No. You already have enough advantages with a Two-Handed build, and you're about to be over-the-top God-like when the weapon ultimates go live.

    Might want to dial the Greed-o-Meter down a bit.

    I've said for ages it makes no sense to further handicap two hand/bow/staff users by depriving them of a set slot; after all, players that choose to wear a robe aren't, even though the same applies and it should take up two slots (chest and legs). Especially when you see the new frost mage motif where the robe is only knee length and includes leg coverings, so you can't even use the excuse of wearing other stuff under it. Can't (or at least shouldn't!) do something one way somewhere and a different way somewhere else.

    I agree but I do think the 2h skills should be more in line with every other weapon choice too.

    I just personally think it's ridiculous that magic users are forced to dw just to get decent performance when it (mostly) makes absolutely no sense for that type of character. They're then stuck with weapons they get no use from, losing out on any weapons skills.

    I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to be able to have a competitive character whatever the weapon choice you make.

    I think we should have a head slot, eye slot, mouth slot, 4 fingers and 1 thumb per finger(I mean, 7 willpower sets yo!) 10 toes, left foot, right foot, left shin, right shin, left thigh, right thigh, cod peice, shorts, belt, girdle, shirt, left shoulder, right shoulder, left bicep, right bicep, left forearm, right forearm, left wrist, right wrist, left hand, right hand.... Did i forget any?

    That should give enough slots for the sets we want. Right?

    While I am a fan of the concept to allow for multiple build ideas I know 2h would have to be rebalanced and I often wonder what people would think of 2h after a rebalance.

    2H is incredibly strong as is it without a passive buff like this.

    I hunk 2H users would rage quite the game when they see what 2H would like after

    Are people really arguing that this restriction is helping build diversity? That´s most like the most idiotic thing i´ve read in ages on these forums.
    There is a reason why almost every magica build that can get away with s&b or DW runs those options. That reason is: 5p + 5p + 2p

    Allowing this setup on Destro or Resto setups would finally enable people to build different setups not involving willpower and the likes.
    Twohanded could be rebalanced by simply adjusting the weapondmg to match that of other weapons.

    Suuuuuure, let's *** up the game balance even more...
    Or alternately, if they were to make a two-hand item count as teo for set pourposes, they would have to reduce something else to compensate, making it end up exactly the same as any other weapon. Not something I'd like to see...

    The fun is in the -differences-!
    Want two traits and set slots? Go DualWield or Sword&Board!
    Want more oomph to your striked? Grab that 2Hander!
    Want some range? Gop bow if stamina, staff if magica.
    ...
    ...want some close range wizard? Sorry, nerdy spellslingers are not really supposed to measure up to brawny murdermanglers as punch range! (But you can still do it, after a fashion, just grab that staff and take a look at your close range options, old hands can tell you tales of terror from the early days of PvP, when skirt and stick was the way to do, and many a zerging attempt ended in a sea of streaks and pulsars... ;) )

    I don't think it'd even take that. Atm 2h damage isn't twice 1h so if you dw you'll still have more damage and 1h&s will have slightly less but extra protection. I think that's all about as it should be.
    People seem to be mostly objecting to this idea because the skills associated with 2h are op so if they where better balanced it wouldn't be an issue. And staffs and bows may actually be a bit more practical.

    As for bows and staves I'd love to see this, but two handed skill line is already has too much burst and is over performing in PvP. How about a damage and cost reduction in two handed skills and maybe add some damage over time to add more DPS and less burst to the two handed line and bring it more in line with DW? This would tone down two handers in PvP and increase their usefulness in PvE and then perhaps they could count the two handed weapons as two pieces of a set.

    The destro staff should also have a passive that offers at least as much spell damage as the DW line. The fact that magic users are willing to give up all the skills and passives in the destro staff line just to gain one passive and the extra set piece of the DW line says everything you need to know about the problems with the destro staff.

    I'm generally fairly easy going with this game and not much that annoys others bothers me much but this is the one thing that does wind me up

    Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

    In my opinion the 2handers are fine as they are.

    What we really need is to fix blocking so that it will be on a different button and make it so that the mouse buttons corresponds to left hand or right hand, and make different combinations possible. If you want to run a spellblade you could wear a staff and a 1h sword. Or how about we get new items like magic rings into the game which acts like a weapon instead of a ring which with you can spellcast fireballs. that would look awesome and then you can get spellblades just the way they are. Let's make it a bit more like the combat in skyrim.

    I wouldn't mind two hander dual slot options to be available with a substantial nerf to damage output. I remember when they came out with it back in WoW. I was ecstatic. Makes you feel like a mean green rawr hulk smash!

    I Wear 5 piece aether, 5 twiceborn star and molag kena helmet. Buffs are the shadow and the thief. This is what i wear into a trial or dungeon, if going outside a trial or dungeon i swap the aether for sun set. The d.o.t. damage is crazy with this set up but know you will be left with low resistances which is ok if you have good healer and you can avoid a.o.e. also keep searing strike on your front bar and hit all add's you can for constant health return.

    This works great even though it would be o.p. to duel wield 1h swords which can be done, but resource management can be a struggle. But like the others said we would be super op if we had 1h staff.

    But how about elemental gauntlets like in skyrim weild fire and lightning at the same time similar to the sorcs overload but not as strong. And would be able to equip 2 different gauntlet for different combos. Doubt it would happen but would be awesome
