Yeah, I remember when DKs and Sorcs were super OP, and Nightblades and Templars were nonexistant as both classes were broken. I also remember when Bat Swarm could be spammed. This was also the time of Elder Staves Online, when Stamina as a whole was terrible in PvE. That was a dark time, not a fond memory.

I was playing Templar back then and it was super OP to have a Templar in a group (PvP was meant for group play) and I don't mean as a healer: I mean eclipse Bruh, when it was a soft CC and therefore unbreakable, among another very annoying OP skills we had. I was an hybrid back then and could unleash some serious power.
And guess what? I was playing with 2 very OP STAM NB's (more on the hybrid side) and we could kill those "unkilable DK tanks" and catch those Flash mages without too much trouble.
There were more DK's and Sorcs because Fashion, Templars and NB's just didn't look as cool: Templars were perceived as healers only (not cool) and NB's as sneaky cowards.
DK's were (still are) the most "manly" class of all and Sorcs were meant for the very skilled player due to how fast you had to play them, so a lot "cooler".
Stamina was only bad because people didn't figured out how to play them yet: look at the meta stam sorc now, when soft caps were in place, you could just do the same as now, just with magika dumps instead (boundless storm, etc) as it's all filled with weapon abilities anyway.

With my Hybrid Templar I once managed to 1x5, killed 2 of them and only died to a 6th guy (probably NB lol) sniping me from the top of a tower. I remember that because it was the only time i went alone to Cyrodiil.

So people were all noobs back then, didn't know about the game and complained without a cue of what they were talking about and ruined the game completely. The only thing really wrong that Zeni did was to actually listen to their player base, they should have waited until people actually figured out how to play the game and we wouldn't be in this mess.
All the QQ that lead us here was only really a L2P issue.

EDIT for a conclusion: Good Ol'd Days were when everyone and everything was OP and the only issue was L2P.

Dont worry everyone the game is better now, for your convenience we've limited all playstyles to either gap closer into wrecking blow or fear into execute. This way all players are two shotting everything so everything is grand.

I miss the old battle leveling especially when it was mandatory: almost equal stats more reliance on skill over gear the only thing was the CP gap and the bugged coldfire.

Ya, the good ole.days when we still saw "doomsday" posts like this, nerf <insert class> posts, when Meta was called FOTM, and when "locals" from Hawaii would call eachother "brah" before some Bostonian tourist realized he sounded like a fool and changed the spelling and pronouciation to whatever jacked up mainlander term you guys use today. Yeah, the good ole days

I'm not going to lie, my heart would start racing whenever I was hit from that damned cold fire. It was the panic button. It was as though that was the trigger to make zergs go wild, and start scrambling everywhere. It was madness. Lmao. Good times, I'm telling you. Moments like those will be definitely be missed. The sheer pandemonium it caused just made it great. Everyone just lose it and go crazy. :D

I remember 1 time in area chat, a dude got hit by some cold fire and started losing his mind. "OMG! OMG! I'm burning up! OMG! Dude! Something is hitting me!" Funniest thing I've ever heard in Cyrodiil chats to date. That guy was losing his mind. Ever was laughing so hard, just telling him to cleanse. And I suppose it was his first time being hit by cold fire. And I mean he just starting going crazy.

Bruh, I don't know why people keep saying Templars were bad. I did amazing with my Templar back then. Not as good as my DK or Sorc, but still pretty damn solid.

Back in the time early days of PvP, everyone hated DKs. They said they were overpowered. People said templars and nightblades were a waste. Then it became sorcerors and all the posts were about "a stick and a dress." Then nighblades got buffed, particularly the stealth skills, and people soon learned that two nightblades could quickly take out a group of four. People started running dungeons with nothing but four nightblades (or three). Then came the screaming about how overpowered nightblades were. Yeah. But until recently, templars got dumped on.

So I have a templar I created way back when. She does okay. She has some CP points now and some decent armor and no one kicks her from a group. I didn't even min/max her. She gets her DPS, she can throw out some heals, she can rez. In PVP, she can drop Dawnbreaker and keep herself alive. And she's fun to play.

The moral of the story is: There are two kinds of players. Those who play the game and those who play the meta.

I remember how good the game ran just before the lighting patch . Big battles all over the map .

QFT. There's even some videos on youtube that show this.

I just had an epiphany. Everything was balanced and diverse back then. Seriously. There weren't as many NB's back then as there are now. There weren't as many Templars either. It was truly a mix of: DK's, NB's, Sorcs, and Templars. True story. Think about this for a moment. Anybody else notice this...? Think long and hard about PVP back when VR12 and VR14 were level caps, and reflect on the blend of players. WTF have you done combat team? :(

I don't know about that - i remember topics on Tamriel Foundry that a pretty famous guild leader was turning down all nightblades altogether because they were just not stromg enough. I remember struggling through Stonefalls with more than 3 enemies with my stamblade. I remember having to get a million xp to get through vet 1, 2 million to get through vet 2, 4 million for vet 3 and so on, when you are rewarded about 1k xp per quest, just like in starter zones.

I remember going through with all that and finally rolling a sorc that flew through the content, became my main and brought me so much joy only to get nerfed and readjusted.

Nevertheless, i'm still here, readjusting every time things change. Don't think previous updates like legendary 1.5 were so much better , they were just bending 'balance' in different ways.

And yes, i do miss decent mixed stam-magicka builds. I think it's a huge loss for the game - the only ones who can pull it off now are tanks, and i don't play one(
Skye Cloude - Sorc DPS, Master Crafter. Main, the bestest
Lae Lenne - Templar Healer Trial grade.
Dromede - Stamina Nightblade, she's a newb and doesn't know what she's doing
V'oghatta - Stamplar pretending to be a tank
Ulville Thonvella - aspiring Fire Mage, be careful around her fire sticks!
Dromedaris - lost and not found. Named after a shoe, what else can you expect from her? A proper tank in her wildest dreams
Swims-Naked - too pretty to grind, too silly to quest.
Sun Flair - Dunmer Templar that can't spell for life. To bad she's too broke to afford a name change... Well, at least she's pretty...

    Sometimes, I dream about...cheese...

Dermont - v16 Pompous Altmer Sorcerer (With a very arrogant face!)
Egonieser - v16 Nord Stamina Dragonborn Wannabe
Endoly - v16 Tiny Redguard Sharpened MaceBlade
Egosalina - v16 Breton Cheesus Beam Specialist
Egowen - v16 Dunmer Whipping Expert (Riding crops eluded her)

The people that say this stuff are the ones that follow the current fotm build video.

They mistake thier weak knowledge for weak classes and then complain about it.

Then Zos listens to them because they are the majority, nerfs everything that makes them sad, and we have this pile of crap now
