I have played a little on the PTS to experience the battle leveling, and understand the way the world is going to work, and I've come to accept it. But I am going to miss regular old leveling.
I just don't understand the point of even having levels when everything and everyone is going to be 160 all the time.
I'm gonna have to get used to it, because I love this game too much to leave.
Am I the only one who will miss the way it is?

Am I wrong? when I get above 160 cp will i start to get stonger? above the scaling?

It will only be 160 if YOU are 160+ If you are leveling an alt, it would scale to your current level. Pre vet levels, how would leveling be any different than it is now?
I'm not trying to be snarky (please don't take it that way), but if there is a difference I really would like to know what will change. The only thing I see changing is post lvl 50.

But that's not how it's going to work. The entire world is lvl160, and the game scales YOU to match it. from lvl 1, you're always battle leveled.

H 22,000
S 14,000
These are the numbers your character is born with through "battle leveling" right out of wailing prison at lvl 3.
All mobs, everywhere, are 160.
It's basically the same way the DLC zones work today, except they've tweaked it a bit to be more balanced for the lowest levels.Bouldercleave wrote: »Alina_Scarbridge wrote: »Bouldercleave wrote: »Not sure I understand your comment about everything being 160 all the time

That's what I was not understanding. I'm not on the PTS, so I haven't seen it first hand. I'm not sure I like that process one bit.

Oh man, that one survey location that used to be right on top of a nest of wasps... That used to give me conniptions when I was a low VR trying to go and collect itI_killed_Vivec wrote: »lordrichter wrote: »What I am going to miss is the challenge and the thrill of taking on entire zones that are above my level and beating them into submission like the hero my character is.
That's what I'll miss. I levelled my characters back in the old days, when you needed 4 million XP to gain a VR level. I'd go into a new zone under-levelled and things were hard. By the time I'd finished the zone I was half way to the next level - again entering a zone under-levelled. It was a challenge.
And so was Craglorn. When you first went in to Craggles as a lowly VR1 you only had to look at mobs the wrong way to be destroyed. And it was a serious accomplishment when I first defeated some wasps

Grinding a character up to the point where you can start to acquire gear that is useful for endgame is always annoying for me, I've always viewed it as being a pointless bother that would be best done away with in any game. Playing end-game content and acquiring top-notch gear (as long as it's fun and not too grindy), now that is where the fun is, that's where the game truly starts for me, everything before that is just pointless muck you have to wade through to get to the good stuff.
I can't say that I'm really bothered by it though, certainly not in this game where you can grind a character to 50 in a day if you're prepared and committed enough, but leveling up is boring and pointless and I just want access to all my basic skills right off (again, special skill lines needing to be leveled up is fine, but needing to level up everything just makes it harder for newer players because they lack the ability to devise properly effective builds).
So yes I definitely like this change, it's a move in the right direction that opens the game up more for newer players and simplifies gameplay across Zones. Right now I don't even bother with story quests as much as anything because they give me no experience because I skipped them until after hitting 50, this change eliminates both the need to do things in order and the detractor of not getting anything out of it if you go back and do low level content later on. And I like the simplified UI of no monster levels shown, more immersive I think, less unnecessary fluff to distract from the actual gameplay.

But I have a cp300something character, and I've all but abandoned her to start several alts so I could go through the game again. Currently level 37 on one, and she probably won't even make 50 before One Tamriel... maybe.
So, when you say you think that whole first part of the game could just be done away with, you'd be taking away my entire game. Honestly. if they could figure out how to make that optional, that'd be great. But please don't ask for everything to be unlocked immediately. Some of us want to earn it.
I'll be happy to be able to go back and finish half of the Stonefalls quests I left because I was over level, and half of the Deshaan, or on my DC half of the Glenumbra quests, Stormhaven, Rivenspire, etc. I can go back and now do those quests with something resembling a challenge and actually earn a reasonable amount of XP for them that will help me progress regardless of whether on a CP character or a sub 50 character.
