Auction House or something similar.

I still think this game needs an auction house or a much simpler way of selling/buying items rather than guild traders.

What do you guys think?

This has been discussed a million times, and it would be nice to have, but it's probably not going to happen. For this reason I created a multi-platform ESO trading site several months ago. I'd appreciate a sign-up, but everyone is more than welcome to post as a guest. We are gaining new members and more traffic every day, mostly from console players. The links are in my signature below. If you can't see my signature, here is the link: ESO Trade
Can't find the items you are looking for? Need a place to trade? We welcome ESO players of all platforms at ESO Trade, the home for trading of goods and services in the lands of Tamriel.

Berate me all you want, but I enjoy some level of realism or, dare I say, immersion.

I can't stand MMOs where there is 1 NPC in every city I can walk to and buy whatever it is I want/need in 30 seconds. It doesn't make any sense. I like having to shop around and see who all is selling what I want/need and at what prices before I commit to buying it. It makes shopping an interactive activity, not a chore (though I suppose this depends on how you look at it).

I've said this in the ten thousand other threads about it, but no thank you. I like the vendors. Sure, they need some work and polish, but no Auction Houses.

Same, everytime I see a thread like this I think about Auction Horse. @Gidorick has gotten into our heads.

I have to agree with a few posters here, in that personally I prefer the guild traders. Not only does it provide immersion hunting down a desired item, but it also can allow for those who wish it to play a bit more of a "merchant". In games with a centralized auction house all items will eventually get a standardized price with so much supply as essentially everyone is dumping their goods into one pile.

With traders people are essentially forced to price their goods based upon location. If you have a very obscure/out of the way vender, generally you will have to sell your goods for less as you have substantially fewer potential buyers. This also provides a cheaper guild vender for the less fortunate or smaller guilds. If you happen to have a prime location vender you can probably get away with a higher price while still being kept in check by the other venders nearby.

As a buyer this can work to ones advantage by offering choice. When I am hunting for a specific recipe for example I generally try a vender near where I am which can be a more obscure one because generally they go for very cheap. If I am unable to find it there I can then choose to try a more populated and well travelled city like Mournhold and often pay a bit more of a premium for the near gaurentee of it being there (have yet to NOT find what I'm looking for there).

This method also opens up different "markets" instead of one large pool. If my guild has a vender in say the lvl20-30 area of my alliance, it would make sense to sell equipment, potions, food, etc. at around that level. While you can sell anything anywhere, those with a vender around where the V14 players hang out would probably not sell nearly as much lvl20-30 items and would have a better market for end game items. Just an example.

Thus if a player decides too they can essentially be a traveling merchant buying things at low prices from people just trying to make SOME money and then sell it at a vender they belong to for a marked up price. Admittedly one can do this with an auction house, but instead of a player with a little bit of extra time making a little side money, it becomes the super wealthy who simply buy/resell in the single roomed auction house. To be that is not immersive at all. That's my opinion anyway.

Lol. Thank you @Reverb! I was just about to post that. Glad to know these ideas are on other people's minds! I actually can't believe @ZOS has never officially acknowledged the Auction Horse idea.

Maybe it means they're considering it!.... probably not.

What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

I prefer the system ESO has, this is not your father's MMO. It is different and take some time getting used too. I believe this system has many benefits to the overall economy and just takes some effort on the players part. I believe this system will be adopted in other MMOs, not the other way around.

Guild traders are good only if you are in a guild on a good place for sales and is really hard to join in that guilds. With a global auction house all players can their stuff

You know you this is not true right?

Even the trade guilds on very hot spots like Rawlka are casual friendly.

I don't ever want an auction house. I bought 7 pieces of purple viper armor all divine did not pay 80 k combined. I also bought 7 elegant divine armor and purple jewelry for less than 130 k and a gold elegant resto staff for 45 k. Why because I am patient and most players are not.
Sorcerna, proud beta sorc. RIP April 2014 to May 31 2016 DArk Brotherhood. Out of retirement for negates and encases. Sorcerna will be going back into retirement to be my main crafter Fall 2018. Because an 8 k shield is f ing useless. Died because of baddies on the forum. Too much qq too little pew pew. 16 AD 2 DC. 0 EP cause they bad, CP 2300 plus 18 level 50 toons. NA, PC, Grey Host#SORCLIVESMATTER actually they don’t or they wouldn’t keep getting nerfed constantly.
