I really don't understand what it does........like what does that do for a magic build or stamina build? Does it mean I can do both? I don't want to make this set and waste all my stuff. Yes I have all traits researched

It's a cannonical set for hybrids, but the 'hybrid' model is inherently inferior to stacking all your stats on one attribute (stamina or magicka) in the current state of the game.

It'll take the higher of your two stats: spell damage and weapon damage, and match them.

Since weapon damage can be stacked more easily than spell damage. I use 5 pieces of pelinal + 2 pieces leki + 1 piece kena + 3 piece agility. 5 medium, 1 heavy, 1 light. My buffed weapon damage is 3.9k and so my spell damage is that number. I can do decent damage with both stamina based and magicka based skills. Unfortunately, since max stam/magicka factor into the equation of damage output. It's hard to really get big damage numbers on a hybrid.

They are unique in certain contexts, because of their ability to use both types of skills. Check out some of the hybrid builds to see a discussion about its viability. The community is not necessary in agreement.

If you wanna be a hybrid then by all means be a hybrid! This set is definitely at least considerable for hybrid builds and is the best Zenimax could do in favor of not giving back soft caps.

It allows stamina builds access to healing staff heals.

It allows magica builds access to stacked weapon damage.

It allows a stamina Templar to have a fairly strong breath of life or a stamina dragon knight access to the fire claw skill that heals them.

The basic flaw if this set at the moment is to truly get the mist out if it you gave to spend attributes at CP in ways that are not "meta" so until someone comes along and makes a video showing his good it can be everyone will just argue about how bad it is.

It's a super strong set for some builds and in a complete moment if content intuitive it's a crafted leveling set and a really strong tank set up.

Would it make vigor viable on a magDK? Pvp purposes.

You could technically use it to run both Vigor AND Mutagen on rather equal footing. Or Rapid Regen if you prefer that. Combine that with Rally... Triple HoT + Major Brutality yo.

Well the point was to to have a heal without a healing staff  I've seen magDK's use vigor before I just don't know if they're wearing pelinal's and if it's effective.

Yep. I have dunmer hybrid DK. She uses DW on her front bar to stack flame-based magicka dots, and she uses WB on her backbar as her spammable and vigor as her heal.

If the goal is no Restoration Staff then sure Vigor and if applicable Rally your way to health via a hybrid build!

It's an interesting set that doesn't quite hit the mark, hybrid builds need some serious attention otherwise future sets will just become unnoticed.
I've had too many atm to think of a serious way in which hybrid builds can be viable (thinking pve, hybrids can be great in pvp) ....but they should be and it must be possible.

The problem I see with this set is that your resource pool will still be low in either magica or stamina. So if you are a stamplar yes you will have a powerful heal available, but you won't be able to use it much because your magica pool will still be low.

That's the major limitation I see with the set

It depends on how you utilize your resources. If your Magicka is used exclusively for healing and buffing for example then you'd only run low if you use them too much. Also depends on how your resources are built and your CPs are distributed.

If you can successfully alternate your Magicka and Stamina then combined you will be just as limitless as a dedicated Magicka/Stamina.
