Equipment sets. dropped & crafted?

1. How does lvl range and quality range effect dropped sets, like if a lvl range is 6 lvls an 1 is lowest and 4 are highest lvl. how does this effect the sets PROC numbers?
2. Same question for training trait? Lvl Vs Quality Vs number of items.
I've noticed that upgrading a set item on a character has no effect on set stats.
Please post website links that go into detail or ya can type a long explanation here.

I have been told that upgrading a bound item is a waste of mats. TRUE?

Only if it's not Champion Rank 160 and have the trait you want it to have. In other words don't make something you don't plan to keep for the long haul gold quality.

what I'm saying is, upgrading a bound item has no effect on item/set stats, even if item is used by another character. once item is bound, upgrading bound item has no effect on stats.

    Please respond tp OP question

If someone told you upgrading equipment that is part of a set has no effect on the set bonuses then they lied to you. However, the set takes into account the quality of all of the pieces and averages them out, so if you have 1 gold and 4 white then the gold piece will scale down to better match the 4 white. It's the same with the gear's levels too. Traits do exactly as they say and nothing more, regardless of item level and they do more with higher quality.

Thanks you UltimaJoe777, what I wanted to know is how the percentages boiled down to.
But I still see the effect where a unbound IMPROVED item will add to character stats and a IMPROVED bound item has no effect.
But, thanks... trying to narrow this down.

Bound has no effect on the equipment improvement. All crafted set pieces become bound if they are worn. So you can simply go ahead and craft 2 identical set pieces (same level, same trait) wear just one, then upgrade both to green. You will see that they have identical stats.

As a side point I agree that anything sub CP 160 in Armour and Weapons is not worth taking to gold
at any level you can go to gold enchantment's and if you find the right set site you can make some very good equipment[
my best self made is a stave lvl 50 CP160 restoration/lightening gold of the death's wind set
    lovely bit of kit
but point is your character is unique so you may need some unique cp160 gold level that you will have to make so take that into account as you build a Character being able to make gold level glyphs (are expensive to buy) is very useful.
and if you can't make it make sure you can make GP's some way, or it's a very slow grow Bro. lol
    have fun /b]
Try Cat herding it's fun thay said you'll love it it's a good honest job........ bollock's you need Silverweave body armour to stop em fighting, but a stuffed mouse on a string can help!
