I would prefer a BUG FIX&LAG FIX QUARTER over a new DLC content - one quarter
Honestly they could easily keep the game a float by utilizing the Crown Store by releasing or re-releasing LTOs during that time. They could also create events that would run during that quarter that would overlap with the bug fixes. The events and the Crown Store offers would keep players coming in, playing and buying.

Currently they arent set up for this, or even close to it. The most promising opportunity according to datamining is Halloween. But who knows if we'll see an actual event that requires players being routinely active for it or its just a bunch of stuff that wont make it into the game.

I would rather they spend a quarter looking into known issues. There is enough content in the game for me to stay entertained.

The bugs, however minor or major, need to be addressed to keep people playing and entice those who left to return.

    IMO, anyway.

They need to fix their product. People pay good money and are bombarded with loading screens after loading screens. The Dungeon Finder is still broken, so yeah people are left to do things the old fashion way unfortunately It actually feels like it's getting worse not better. I am literally watching my buddy doing a heist right now and he got hit by a loading screen and he just got caught because it and he was forced to bail because of it. But you guys have time to sell us a #$^& 40 dollar mount and call it a day.

It's been over a month since the Dark Brotherhood has been released. So far I regretted buying the DLC bundle and should have waited until you guys fixed all your issues with the game.

Why limit yourself to fixing bug on a quarterly basis, lest fix bugs often as quick as you can, lets have more content and I mean content not these tiny dlc's you play through in a few hours, this game is in need of at least one major expansion, filled in with smaller dlc's.

Bugs should never be put off to be fixed at a later date, but ZOS has a really bad track record how long did we wait for known issues that adversely effected the player base to be fixed some of them were months, let an area pop up where players could get more exp than they were supposed to that was fixed almost immediately.

I know bugs can be hard to find and fix and sometimes requires new code, there will always be a trade off somewhere it seems.

To be honest the poll is too loaded and bias for me to choose. You make it seem like every dlc does not have bug fixes or lag fixes. There has never been a strictly dlc only patch. There been only patches without paid dlc and patches that fix or add things like all of the little patches between the big patches. Also patches that has all the above not a single only dlc patch. I play on PC since this game came out and on Xbox one since it came on there. None of these problems that people keep complaining has stop from doing any of the new content. I have dealt with crashes and long loading screens when I on PC and this was during a time people kept saying that this game was working for them.

I cannot pick the first option becasue an only optimization patch would not always fix the problems since bugfixes can cause more bug fixes. It not always the new content that causes the bugs. It could be the bug fixes and optimization changes that comes with every patch that people seem to overlook that comes with every patch not just a dlc patch. I also cannot pick the second option because I do not like bugs but I like more content and changes. You got players complaing that this next patch is not really adding much content. So regardless on what Zos does, players are going to complain even if they do make an only optimization patch.

bugs are fine for me, I want every quarter a new DLC content, even one quarter without a DLC would be bad for me
It isn't that bugs are fine with me (the poll question being needlessly biased in that respect), rather that (a) I've scarcely experienced any (I had a broken quest a couple of months ago and found it had just been acknowledged with a fix implemented a week later with the next incremental patch), and (b) bug-fixing and new content are handled by different teams so that concentrating on one does not preclude the other being worked on too.

Besides, the people complaining loudest about their issues with the game will almost certainly be the first to shout "they lied to us about the quarterly content updates" if the original schedule isn't kept to  !
