Why no exploration-centric sets?

It seems every set put into the game is there for the purposes of fighting - upping max magicka, or weap crit, or debuffing for x seconds, or something like that.

But what about more exploration-centric sets? Ones that didn't necessary buff your attack stats, but upped loot quality or pinpointed nodes or auto-unlocked locks or stuff like that?

Just seems that the sets are all fight-flavoured, and wondering why there aren't any non-fight-flavoured is all.

I'd like to see one with a slight boost to pickpocket (or maybe, just for time saving, you always have the +20% Green numbers from waiting for the "Correct" moment)

Personally though, one that auto-passed lockpicks would make the Thieves Guild Jobs and Heists a good deal more trivial, and we don't want that (trivializing content is bad).

Definitely agree that I'd like to see some "non-combat" focused sets though.

Sets focused on non combat activities should have a place in this game. I'd love to see a 5pc bonus that increases your run speed by 30% for 30 seconds every time you harvest a node. Perhaps another set that reads "Whenever you open a chest you gain a treasure seeker buff charge. When you accumulate 5 of these charges, your next chest will contain improved loot (stacks with treasure hunter passive)" I went with stackable charges to prevent people just putting this on before they loot each chest.

Take it a step further and make a Mundus stone that increases your node yield while active. Or maybe one that increases your pickpocket chance.

when prosporous was announces as a trait (before reading the natch potes) i assumed it would buff loot from treasure chests... maybe this tweak could make the trait more desirable!

If TBS wasn't the BiS or if the second Mundus it provides didn't get spaced when you remove the 5th piece, I'd like situational gear.

But I'm too lazy to get The Shadow again, again and again. Even it being so close to Marbruk XD

The name of the game is combat. Not that I think it is a bad idea, but exploration gear and stuff like that is better suited to more sandbox oriented games. There really isn't much rewarding non combat related things to do in ESO.

Well several sets iirc have an impact on stealth - radiius speed etc. So they are good for thiefy type stuff as well as fighting. I also think the prisoners stuff has a focus on running fast and long.

    So there are a couple.

But a group of sets with a 5pc bonus thats "gain better harvest in ABCD craft" or "reduce quality items needed by 25%" on top of a lesser bonus for combat (NME, as template) would be fun.

Maybe because the map is so small that you cant really explore it like people did in the original TES games.

They wouldn't even need to be exploration-centric, per se; just not combat-centric. The stealth sets are a good start, but there's more to non-combat than just stealth.

For example, bonuses to crafting or cooking or additional inventory space while wearing a given set would be cool.

Would like to see more diversity as well without making those sets absolutely worthless in other scenarios. Would also make sense to introduce such sets if more of Tamriel becomes playable,
