First time seeing this only dead horse that keeps getting beating is "ad necro class".

Really? xD I think I saw it once or twice and thought this is something people ask about a lot!

Beating the dead horse normally means that some one or a group of people keep bringing up a topic that has been replied to over and over again with the same answer and for some reason that group of people still bring it up not letting the idea or topic die.

Thank you for the clarification! =D

Not many of my characters would marry someone, either because some of them are too young or because it is just something that wouldn't fit their personalities. But Elam Drals, Count Verandis (rescue pending), Neramo, Angardil (a character that appeared once in a side quest but I love his personality), Talviah, Telenger... All good candidates for my few characters that would marry. It's a shame that Indaenir is already married, or he would be on the list too. Also, my Argonian would love to get to know Walks-Softly better. I would have added Battlereeve Urcelmo to the list if I didn't ship him with Ayrenn already. Same for Raz, I ship him with three other characters.

    Anyways...

I don't care much for having my characters marry npcs, but I would like to have some npcs living in my houses once housing is released. I really wouldn't like to live in an empty home, and neither would my characters. Being able to hire npcs or to just invite some friendly npcs to live with you would be pretty nice, in my opinion (as long as we can tell them to leave if we want to make some space for new, more interesting npcs or if we get tired of them).
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

It would be odd. But I think the best thing would be to allow us to create a spouse for our up coming housing options. Kinda like hearthstone in Skyrim except you actually build your own spouse.

I left GW2 before they added housing, but before that, there was an instanced "home instance" for every character (depending on race). Some npcs would move there after you completed the quest related to them. I always found that to be a nice feature.

In ESO, we meet a huge number of npcs when questing, a much higher number than in GW2. So maybe some npcs could just visit sometimes (maybe on fixed weekdays?) instead of moving in permanently, while others could be invited to move in. Maybe we could hire stablemasters, bards and such from a selection of known npcs (and if we don't know anyone that would fit the role, there would be some default ones).

Depending on your quest choices, some npcs would be unavailable (maybe dead, maybe angry at you), which would give a little more weight to your choices too.

But this is just a thought.

With the player housing in mind, we could for example have our waifus make us some sweetrolls for when we come back home from our heroic journeys, we could chat with them about sensitive topics (ERPs shame on you )!
Of course it would be totally different than marrying a real person in game, since the npc wont follow you around, you wont get the same advantages as with a real player obviously, it is mainly intended for role playing reasons! My husband doesnt play the game with me and I would of course feel like cheating by marrying some random dude in game and role play with him xD.
Pretty please! And if you do oh please allow Count Verandis and Elam Drals to be some of the husbandos we can take!
    :cookie:
    Who would you marry?

Is your marriage that insecure at home that your husband wont allow you to purchase a cash shop ring that gives exp. I've no problem with people role playing but how earth can you role play with a NPC? It's more or less like having a personal slave that is to scared to speak, move or literately do anything lol

kind of rude response there, besides i know of a mmo that does npc romance quite well (SWTOR) though it feels lifeless the conversations are what make it. giving a ring of mara to someone is not marriage so to speak it is simply using up a ringslot for a little XP boost.

i very appreciate tis little xp boost

i personally find it to not be worth the slot but then again i can never find a person who does not A run off and lvl while i am offline, or someone who does not quit. It could be usefull if you have a dedicated leveling partner or a lover who plays with you but for those like my self it simply is not worth it. Besides i am just getting an alt to the lvl 35-45 area and she is 50 lol.

I would not be surprised ZOS at some point will add a bunch of Assistants with different personalities and genders and with a rename option for spouses/ life partners. Personal tavern wench, bard, housecarol and shield bearer are an ESO must :P

Also since they just personal npcs without functions like merchant and bank they would be a lot more cheaper for crowns so more can actually afford an assistant (also need more quest reward ones)

That would be a great idea, OP. I'd marry that 1 girl introduced in the DB. The wealthy girl turned assassin. I think she was dating Cimbar or whatever his name was, before "things" happened. I believe her name was Mirabelle Motierre. Or something along those lines. She's thick like a McDonalds McFlurry. You know. So thick that you gotta use the spoon. Yup, but anyway. She's just my type of woman. Not fat. Not skinny. But just right. :p
