Constant Display Driver Crashes?

ChaosKillerX7
Hello all,

I'm experiencing display driver crashes and recoveries ONLY when playing ESO. The time can vary wildly from a few minutes when logging on to up to 20 minutes. This does not happen with any other game and is only being experienced on ESO.

Specs:

GTX 980ti - Updated Drivers
i7 4790k
Windows 10
16 GB/s of RAM

I've tried DDU and a fresh install of drivers and I am still experiencing this problem on the game. Would love some advice or to know it's a current issue being looked into, thank you!

    Hi

we had the same issue yesterday at night with my friend. Both of us we had constantly display crashes every 10 or 5 minutes. I don't have any idea what was happening, but it was really annoying.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I can no longer Alt-Tab out of the game without it crashing the display driver and sometimes it'll crash after a random amount of time while playing. Seems to have happened after the update last week but I never get the crash reporter for the game. The game goes to 'Not Responding' black screen and I have to end it with Task Manager. This only happens while I use eso64.exe, lauching regular eso.exe works fine for me.

Had this problem with my old setup, an EVGA SC GTX 770. Try "downclocking" your gfx card.
For some reason ESO seems very sensitive about anything running above standard specs. And yes you probably didn't overclock your card, but many cards comes overclocked from the factory.
It worked for my card, give it a try. Sure you might loose a tiny bit of performance, but it's a lot better than crashing

Give this a try. As my game was crashing frequently after up grading my video card. With the crashes becoming more frequent over time.

Right click the ESO desktop shortcut, Properties. Compatibility, tick the box for disabling the high DPI setting.

This was one of the options given to me after submitting a ticket. Worked a charm. @ChaosKillerX7 @Gregory_Mordyval @whyteboymagic @alpehans
