Lag worse than ever on PS4

Holy crap I just tried to sign in to play some PVP and had to log out because there was seriously more than a full second delay between button pushes and actions taking place. Light attack was impossible as every time I tapped the button it did a full wind up and delivered a heavy attack. This was no lag spike this was a continuous delay between input and action that makes the game absolutely unplayable. I know it's Friday but it seems a bit early to be this bad, I can only imagine what prime time will be like tonight. Is anyone else experiencing this?

That's the problem with having only a few servers and too many players. I can't even log in right now it's taking a long time cause I left my toon in Cyrodiil. Been on the "requesting character load" screen for 4 minutes now

Have you reset your router? Are you using an Ethernet cable? Wifi for online games will always give you issues.

Yes to both questions. I'd never play on wifi. No problems with other games, just this one.

I've tried to play every day since posting this originally and it's been unplayable every time. I've had the game since launch and only in the past few days has it ever been so bad that I actually gave up and just logged out.

It's not my internet. I have 16MB down and 4MB up with very low ping to my service provider. No other game lags, just eso. But I believe you probably are not lying when you say you know people who are having no problem and that's the biggest issue, while a huge number of people, probably the majority, have serious lag there are always a few who say they don't and if true they get a unbeatable advantage because of it.

PVP always lags horribly, bro. And even then, what you experience nowadays is nothing compared to the lag people experienced in PVP when Azura's Star wasn't a non-CP campaign. That place was the most lag-filled place I had ever seen to date on a game. It was literally waves of bodies and chopped up animations in a slow slideshow of sorts. No exaggeration. You'd get killed maybe 2-3 mins. ago and not even know it. Yes, the lag was that bad. You'd just fall over randomly mid-combat. Lol.

In fact, it used to lag so bad you could literally double summon pets. So you'd see people running with 2 Clanfeers and 2 Twilights. Lol. It was ridiculous. You'd see people dropping 2-3 storm atronachs. It was bananas.

I"ve played since launch so I remember that lag, but it's still lagging that bad, they just changed the way it's coded so the server can now drop frames instead of being forced to push them, thus allowing things like 3 focused aim shots from the same person all landing at seemingly the same time. As for suddenly falling over in combat: I can't tell you how many times in the last few days I'll be fighting, take damage, heal myself from 20% to full, then all of a sudden drop because even though my client was still displaying 20% I was already dead server side before I healed myself

actually just ran pvp today (god forbid..hate pvp) and there was no lag. frame drop..god yes but that was due to the sheer amount of people.

I'm sure this reaction is exactly why they made the decision to allow dropped frames, it's much less obvious from a visual standpoint: a bit of choppiness in movement when the game simply drops 5-10 out of 60 FPS is much less noticeable than the overall framerate displaying at 10FPS which makes people think "hey there is no lag".
And really I was OK with this solution because it actually did fix the worst part of the lagginess which was the lag between controller input and on screen action taking place. But ever since last Friday the game has been completely unplayable to me because not only is it dropping what seems to be more like 20-30 FPS in large battles when I push a button there is most often a full 1-2 second delay before the action takes place on screen. The combination of the two gives me no chance to effectively react to incoming damage (especially against gank builds or multiple attackers). It also really messes with breaking CC's and makes it impossible to chain attacks together to burst anyone down by myself.
I really hope the maintenance fixes this for me because I play PvP pretty hardcore and going 5 full days without being able to get into a decent fight really sucks.
I've tried unplugging and repowering my modem/router which the PS4 is connected to by a Lan cable. I've wiped and reset the PS4's network connection settings. I've tested my connection to my ISP and I'm consistently getting 16MB down/4MB up with less than 20ms ping. I even tried wiping stored game data on the PS4. Nothing helps because this is not a problem on the client side.
